try to remove the battery , then press and hold power button for 8 secs. Then insert the power cable instead of battery. Turn it on. If it wont, try to disengage the power cable and insert the battery. If still wont turn on, kindly inform toshiba about this problem and have them fixed immediately. It is either the battery, the cable or the pc unit itself that causes your laptop failure...
Take out the battery and try running it on the power adaptor alone. If this works, you have a dead battery. If not there's something more serious wrong in the machine.
Verify that you obtained an exact replacement power adapter for the Dell. If it is an exact replacement then try this. Disconnect power adapter. Remove battery. Reconnect power adapter without the battery. If it turns on, then power off and place battery back in. Then try again. If problem returns, there could be a problem with the battery itself.
