Heres something you can try called a soft reset /hold the volume up and the navigation up key (thats right under the power button)at the same time it will turn off /now turn it back on if that worked then you want to go here http://www.support.philips.com/support/html/index_us_en.html#../~scripts/xsltransformsearch.asp?url=http://www.sms.philips.com/catalogue/list?sid=SMS||type=CONSUMER||locale=us_en||mode=prod_text||item=HDD070||page=1||show=75&xsl=search_result.xsl And download the firmware then themusicmatch software if you dont already have it your going to install that then restore the device then try to update it/but dont this may not work because it's a big problem with that player and they dont make them anymore so with that said thanks for choosing "solved!

My mp3 phillips gogear 256MB wont work anymore!!!

You would most likely have to replace it, the software gets old and the battery will die. Most likely the battery is completly shot (maybe even leaking) which has caused it to stop working

My philips gogear wont turn on

Disconnect the GoGear from the computer
Reset it first (pinhole in back - safety pins work best), even if nothing happens - just to be on the safe side
Nothing will happen still, but we are OK
Make sure the power is off, and hold in the volume + button, reconnect the GoGear to the computer while holding in the volume + button, and continue holding volume + until a window pops us saying Found New Hardware Wizard
Go through the Found New Hardware Wizard, and the GoGear should be working again - the player will be revived

Write me back if this fails to resolve the problem.

Phillips go gear SA5125 mp3 player

Make sure you are using the original USB cable that came supplied with the GoGear, and then try the volume + method again. If the volume + method doesn't work, then there is a problem with the USB port recognziing the device being plugged in - or, the player was physically damaged.
