Question about Hitachi 46F500 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

TV turns on, No pictura at all, and a clicking like a signal light can be heard.

I'll start form the beginning. I turned on the TV, the colors were not lined up or there was one missing (not too sure anymore), so I went to the MagicFocus option in the menu. Just when I got to the option the TV went blank,no light emitting at all, just a blank black screen. I turned it off and turned it back on to see if that did anything, it didn't! I noticed after that when I turn the TV on there is a clicking noise like a signal light from a car emitting from inside. Is this dead bulbs? Any help would be appreciated. Thank-you

after a week or so I was able to get a picture. The Red was way out of whack, and it will not allow me to adjust red horizontal. I never really fixed it, but I was able to adjust the green and blue to match the red. Not the best picture due to the warping on one side, but hardly noticeable when just watching TV with no straight lines on the screen. If anyone can tell me for sure what the problem is I would appreciate that. Please help!

You've got the same convergence problem everybody else here does. read a few other problems and resolutions on this website and you will get everything you need. (STK Amps, maybe a resistor or 2)

Hello sburdano,
Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!
To answer your question: The colors are all working, they are just out of alignment.
Judging by what you have said hear, I would assume that the television have been moved, rather roughly, or bumped into rather abruptly. The color wheel will need to be re-aligned to the lamp and lens. You need to find out what your local TV Repair shop would charge for re-tuning.
Have a great day!

Left turn signal does not come on

If either of the left turn signals come on (front or rear), the one that doesn't light up probably has a blown bulb or a bad ground. If neither bulb on that side light, you've got other problems. If you'll contact me directly, I'll send you a trouble shooting guide for an earlier model. The wire colors may be different but the trouble shooting should be the same. Contact me at [email protected] and I'll send it in four JPG picture files.

Hello

If the power light blinks slowly,

you've tried to turn on the TV during

the lamp cooldown cycle. Wait

approximately 30 seconds, and the TV
will turn on automatically.

If light blinks, pauses for about a

minute, and blinks again: the lamp is

trying to turn on (TV will turn on

when successful). If TV doesn't turn

on and sequence continues, the lamp also
needs to be replaced.

To order lamp call 1-800-338-0376.

Have your TV serial number

and lamp type available (you'll

find this information on the

sticker that's on the right side of
the TV).
OK.

Heard a pop and now no picture

You are on the right track for the repair of the set.
You should be able to hear the color wheel spin up as the lamp begins to glow. If it is not spinning then that is the first thing I would replace. During the power on sequence, if the color wheel is not detected as spinning, the set will turn off the lamp.

Since the lamp is firing up, I would not suspect the ballast. I would say having a spare ballast and lamp is very good idea for these televisions.

I have repaired these sets before and have ended up replacing the lamp, ballast, and color wheel all at the same time.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Plasma TV

If you mean the picture froze or formed fuzzy pixelated picture and crackling, this will be due to a poor aerial signal to the tv, but if you mean the screen rolls with pink/white patchwork type squares and shows the picture in the background, all be it fuzzy, then that's the same fault as I am getting and have had to report the fault to LG as I am on my second TV. If it is the problem mentioned in the first sentence, it is happening to our friends in OS and they have been told by specialist aerial fitters, the signal is too weak for the tv.
