It should come under IEEE 1394 hos bus controlers! It uses Windows standard FireWire drivers provided by your operating system(Windows2000/XP). If it doesn't come up, try reseating in the PCI slot or resetting your BIOS! regards, babb

I HAVE LOST MY INSTALLATION CD

The installation CD contains a driver of the adapter to run the device. If you lost the CD, you can let your computer find the driver online.

Connect your computer to the internet .Plug the USB device to your laptop. Go to device manager , look under network adapter , find Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter w/ SpeedBooster, right-click it, hit update driver, there will be a windows update pop-up page, so just hit search automatically.

Hardware problem

Connect the adapter on your computer then check the status of the device under the device manager. It should appear under Network adapters or USB Devices. double clikt its icon and look the device status. if you have the drivers installed successfully and you have tried it on different USB port, youmay try installing on another computer to further isolate the problem. If problem persist after installing it on another computer then it only means that there is something wrong with the device.

My computer shows new hardware found but there's no light on the usb adapter and i can't connect to the internet

Make sure that you have installed the necessary drivers needed for it to work. it usually comes with a CD installer that you can use.

If you're done with the driver installation you may check if the device was properly installed under the device manager.

How to go to Device Manager:

1. right click on My Computer
2. select properties
3. go to hardware tab and click Device Manager

You will see all devices installed on your computers and under the Adapter is where the name of your wireless adapter should be listed if it was properly installed.

Hope this helps...

I had the same problem. I went to my Device Manager and checked the port setting for my cable. I reset the port in advanced properties and I was then able to do a transfer. I still have a yellow flag on my cable and get the error 10 but for some reason it did the transfer???

Installation issues

Go into the device manager and hit view/show hidden devices. Remove any Unknown devices. Also remove any devices with an exclamation point. Install the software if it allows to continue. If not, shut down the machine, move the card to another slot. Boot up and install the software then.
