Unit will not charge, changed battery but still does not work... Help

I have a Garmin Ique 3600, it was working fine up until one day when the green charge light started flashing, but the unit still worked and charged but with short battery life. One day the unit just stopped working. I called Garmin, but I bought the unit used and it is not registered to me, so they will not service it. Although they did tell me that the flashing light means that the battery is not accepting a charge. I ordered a new battery on Ebay that claims to be replacement for my unit, but when I put it in nothing happened, no charge light, unit does not turn on, then I smelled a hot electrical smell. What can be done? Does anybody know where I can have the unit serviced besides Garmin? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Exactly the same problem, but the ique 3600 finally emptied the battery, switching the backlight to the brightest, and no success in resetting at that moment. After that a travel charger would be able to charge it and battery did not empty itself quickly, but no success in using the cradle connector or the car unit for charging now (green light does not light).

Sound as though you shorted something on the main board when you installed the new battery. Just sell the unit for parts on Ebay

Garmin ique 3600 not working
Been there. If the unit will not reset with the hole in the back poke you need to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Use a small torx screw driver for the four screws in the corners. Gently split the back case off by the thumbwheel and pivot it around. the battery connector is a small white connector in the lower left hand corner. Be careful of the power switch, ir lamp cover, and plug gasket since when you open the case they sometimes make a break for freedom.

Garmin ique 3600 backlight does not work.
When you opened up the unit, you probably loosened one of the wires. Look to see if there is a small, short black wire and a small short red wire attached to the screen and soldered onto the circut board. They control the back light and one of them may be loose or disconnected. It can be repaired if you have a fine enough soldering tool.

Screen replacement for GarminiQue 3600
I have a 3600 that worked perfectly until i hit the "UPDATER" icon at Garmins suggestion, it fried something but the screen and the rest of the unit are in great shape........ Garmin ique 3600 won't turn on after battery goes dead
You have to charge the unit before it will start from a dead battery (usually about 10 minutes) before even trying to start the unit.

Solved:Opened the iQue and used a heated knife to cut horizontally into the + pin and it comes like a U, upside down, from the circuit board, and the exterior side of it was broken. Used tiny plastic and sealant in the hollow space inside the connector and soldered thin copper wire (used for exploding dynamite) from the horizontal part towards the exterior.

Garmin 3600 GPS issue
I just started having the same problem today too. Go to preferences for gps. I did it by clicking down where the battery symbol is and where the satellite indicator comes up. Then click the quegps in the top left hand corner of the screen. Click preferences and disable WAAS. Seemed to work fine after that. I would like to have WAAS enabled so if you find anything else let me know. Wierd that happened on same day. Let me know [email protected].

ique 3600 maps I am unable to use map source with my IQUE 3600. Map source wants me to unlock the maps for my city select software and the computer will not find the IQUE 3600 in the USB port when I try to connect the device in the Garmin unlock page.
