My old analog Zennith TV is displaying in what appears to be wide screen. This happened all of a sudden. Can I fix it or is it dead.

could be a deflection problem or if picture is somewhat small top or bottom or both only a vertical problem--if very old set parts may no longer be available.

Their seems to be a crake in the screen that makes seveal lines that goes from the top of the crake to the bottom of the screem. can this be fixed? or does t.v. have to be replaced?

no home fix for this one.
usually the service crew will replace the whole screen. (but keep the guts)
check if its worth the price to repair. likely replace the whole tv is cheaper.

Screen is to high and too low (cut at top and bottom)

Unless you adjusted somthing to cuase this, this could be a falt in the tv. Caps in the vertical circuit or some other failure. Possibly in the pin circuit. This may not be an adjustemnt. There is somthing in the service menu to do a vertical height adjustment, but in my experience it usaly is somitng else wrong.

Hi my name is Maribel

It's possible that the screen itself went defective or the controller board for the screen. It's best to use the warranty at this point because the replacement board or screen panel maybe somewhat expensive. Being that it's only 8 month old, manufacture warranty shouldn't be an issue.

Cuts off picture at top of screen and bottom of screen

good luck tryin to find a universal remote i cant...but if you do there should be a button that might say something like pip, pix, screen mode something like that and it will make the picture streach to fit the screen however not all channles will be set on the same screen settings.

Samsung 40 no picture

If it is only 6 months old you probably still have a warranty. This is definitely a hardware issue, and unless you are comfortable taking your new TV apart, I would contact Samsung for repair.
