If there are only two terminals it does not matter which wire goes to which terminal. If there are three then you need a diagram which shows the correct wiring.

hi, how many terminals does this particular plug have that goes to the pump? If it only has 2 wires and the pump is AC rated (as it appears to be in your description) then it wont matter which way you connect it. However if you have another wire there (ie for earth / ground connection) it will matter.
it is a serial port to transfer data the time you upgrade the set to newer version of data like menu and on screen script
