Find out what is causing the protection light to turn on. Troubleshot down to the component level.

It could be many things, bad regulator, bad diode in the alternator, or even a bad ignition switch or even a bad ground. You will need to do some trouble shooting with a multimeter to find the source of your issues. Good Luck and may the force be with you.

Tech notes This is typically a false/intermittent code. It can occur if: Someone hooks up a scanner to the OBDII port while the ignition is on or while the engine is idling. A trailer brake system is installed improperly/incorrectly on a truck with ABS (anti-lock brakes).

When is the code detected? When the PCM, Brake Controller and Instrument Cluster are unable to communicate with each other at any time while the ignition switch is turned to the "Run" position, code U1900 sets in memory.

Your GMS unit should not be intermittent ignition but direct electronic ignition. In any case the flame should never roll out of the chamber. There can be a few reasons for the roll out but sometimes a good cleaning of the heat exchanger and a combustion analysis can cure that. The intermittent flame issue is probably a dirty flame sensor and can be cleaned with light sand paper or steel wool. Be careful not to touch the igniter only the flame sensor. It is usually on the opposite side of the burners from the ignition source. Hope this helps :)

It sounds like the pilot assembly is going out. Electronic ignition of the ovens are an electric heating element that surrounds the thermistor, which in turn controls the gas valve that supplies the main burner, this heater is also the source of ignition for the gas. If your oven is electric, you may have a bad element, replacement is not too expensive, I advise you have a repairman look at it in either case. Safety first.

If they find nothing wrong then the problem is obviously intermittent and can be very hard to find. Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter. Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral wire connection.

The usual source of intermittent loss of spark is the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. Check for a broken wire at the switch or coupler. Get a service manual and check out the electrical section. Some bikes have a diode controller integrated into the turn signal relay. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it. If that doesn’t work, check out the relay.The dealer would / should have load tested the various ignition components. I will assume the ignition system is okay. Check the battery and fuses. Install a new set of stock spark plugs.

Sounds like you have intermittent contact between the constant 12v and the ACC 12v power inputs. Remove the head unit, and make sure that the connections are properly insulated. (using inline **** connectors preferably)
