I have had this same ceramic countertop water-bottle dispenser and recently, it trickled water all over the counter/floors. I emptied both the ceramic base w/ spigot, and the 3gal bottle. I filled up each one, separately, and placed on a wire rack on a cookie sheet, to determine if either was leaking. Neither leaked. I did tighten the plastic spigot on the ceramic base. Then I put the bottle back on the base to see if it was a pressure/weight issue. No problem there. No problem for another week or so, but this a.m.: 2gallon flood on the floor. Any hints/suggestions as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance-
Contact the maker of this mystery water bottle dispenser. It sounds like it needs replacing under warranty. However.....
SOLUTION by OP: there was a hairline crack that did not show up until the plastic water bottle was inverted & the pressure /exchange between both bottle & crock caused enough "pull" to cause spillover the top of the crock. I have a secondary polycarb bottle (3gal) which is working perfectly. Simple physics, once again..

SOURCE: whirlpool washer overflows at detergent dispenser
Hello, I worked on a problem like this a few days ago. Your problem is going to be a blockage in the inlet to the drum. To fix this problem find the inlet pipe normally located above the door behid a flap of rubber..push your fingers up there to see if you can feel a blockage..If not your going to have to remove the lid of the machine to access the pipe that leads from the detergent drawer to the tub. Look at the rear top of the machine..You will see three screws....remove them and push back and lift the top panel (lid) now you should be able to access the pipe. Pull the pipe off and clean it out, i suspect you will find a sock blocking the pipe :) If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck! Mike

I have the same issue, with two different porcelain water dispensers and two different 5 gallon bottles - WHERE was your hairline crack? My only thought is the 5 gallon bottle is too heavy - but I've had the same set-up for 20 years without a problem, then all of a sudden it's now happening, even with different equipment!
