Oh my god! Bought an 8gb OEM mp3 player from ebay this week. Managed to get some proper English instructions and actually got 2 CDs on it. Tonight I've done something stupid (don't know what) and now when I turn it on I just get an hour glass. It's just frozen. Please help!! It doesn't matter what I press, the hourglass just stays there and I haven't a clue what to do. I just feel like throwing the damned thing through the window! Should I???!!!

Re: Nano 8gb mp3 player
Don't throw it out - yet!
If your iPod nano is not responding, you need to manually reset it. The instructions are in the manual; but I have typed them below for your reference:
Slide the Hold switch to HOLD and back again. Then press the Menu and Center buttons at the same time for about 6 Seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If you need clarification, ask it in the comment box above.

It's resolved. Thank you. All I had to know is the dutch translation for ''settings'' since all the different sections were all written in that language.I set the language back to ''English US''
You have been sold a fake sized player. it is hacked to show 16GB/8GB actual size may be around 1GB to 8GB or less. test your player with "H2TESTW 1.4" you will find it the first hit on www.google.com let other people know and open a dispute on paypal, you have been sold a fake item. Do not return the item for refund as sellers address is very likely wrong, useless to wait for a replacement player because they all are hacked. Get a partial refund if still possible and leave negative feedback.
about the other problem your having, I don't know about that. I'll let you know if mine breaks up. its a 16GB version that actually has only 4GB. got 20usd refunded from the original 35usd, so not a big problem.
still I think its a crime yes? to sell counterfeit products / manipulated to show incorrect size of memory etc.
