Everytime I load the disc in the player you hear the disc loadin but it does not play. It just keeps making the loading sound "drrrrrrrrrrt drrrrrrrt drrrrt" This goes on for about 10 min. before it spits back out the disc. Even if you press eject the disc doesn't come out. Press play it doesn't respond. Discs are clean and play in other dvd players. Help!!!!! Its no fun listening to toddlers aks why no thomas overr and overr again.
We have the same issue. I am eager to find out if the solution presented works, but am leary of taking apart the DVD player unless I have more specific instructions. Can you describe the repair using more detailed steps from beginning to end? I imagine you start by unscrewing the casing, but what do you see when you pull it off?
I'll check back in once I've tried to remove the case, but I'm considering buying a low-cost external drive and plugging it in.

When we load ANY DVD in the player, we get a "loading" message, but the system does not fully engage the disc. It goes in, but the mechanism that loads the dvd won't lower so that the dvd can be read. Then it ejects the dvd after about 5-10 seconds. When we load ANY DVD in the player, we get a "loading" message, but the system does not fully engage the disc. Their are two possible causes for this problem, 1- the flat white cable that connects dvd player is not making contact where it conncts to dvd player. 2- the dvd laser eye is binding on the plastic trck that it slides on. This is a fairly simple fix remove track and use a razor blade to gently scrape the track in the spot it is binding, you can determine the spot by manually rollin the hesad back and forth.
Hi, I had the same problem with my PMD-100NT. I found that there was a motor inside that, I think, was moving the laser head was skipping and the head was not moving into position. I hooked a portable to the external jacks and I am just using it as a monitor. I am [email protected] if you have any questions.

how long have you been using this player and when did this begin?
The lens is weak such that it cannot load data on discs. Its spinning, trying to load, but can't because of the weak laser.
Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.
If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.
To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.
Once this us done, your player will play all discs again.
Sounds very much like you have a either a dirty laser, or a laser unit failure. Put a cleaning disc through the machine, and see if it improves. If not, then you need to either have a new laser fitted, or a new machine.
Sorry, no suggestion other than don't buy Samsung. That's my conclusion after owning the same model. It worked fine for a while, but now won't load any DVD... usually. Sometimes it will play one, but more often it won't. Mine tries to load ("Loading") for a long time, I hear the DVD spinning, then ultimately the screen displays "This disc cannot be played" or something to that effect.
