If you ever find that you have to deal with a wet device, don't just abandon it.
Instead, try the following method to repair the water damage:
DO NOT TURN IT ON!
Take it apart as much as you can. Take out the battery, the memory card and whatever else can be easily disassembled. (Just make sure you can put it back together.)
Store the parts in an air-tight container covered with either dry rice, silica gel packets or kitty litter. These will absorb the moisture from your electronics device, leaving it water-free.
If no rice, gel packets or kitty litter are available, try using a vacuum to **** the water out.
DO NOT blow-dry the parts, it will only force the water farther in and cause more damage.

I washed my mp3 player

Washing your mp3 depends on what you used in washing it for it t come on.

If it doesn't come on just follow this guide lines......

Get a screw drive that can open your mp3 player..
on screw it....

Get a brush(prefeed a tooth brush not used again), and a methylated spirit containing ethanol 95%....

Apply a little drop of your methylated spirit on the inside of your mp3 (the board with alot of chips)....

brush a little on every side and pu *** close to a bulb or any thing hot to heat it for about 5 to 10 mins.....

When it become try, couple it back and put it on....

NOTE' after heating, make it dry before you couple it back...thank you.

Tha the same case with my son's Mp3 player , washed it in the washing machine and even it was delicate washing cycle it did not show any sign of life . :-( . The only good thing about it was that it came out cleaner , and my son got newer player .
Having said that, I have nothing to add but I'm sorry but you have to buy new one .

Probably.
Try washing it in clean water, then let it dry in the warm sun for several days.
Then see if it works.
If not then it is dead.

You have to try in powering it up.

Unfortunately, when such kind ofelectronics are washed, the only solution i to open it immediately, clean all the water and moisture residues, dried it, and then charge the battery again and test it.

When time passes (say 2-3 months) after being washed, there is corrosion and moisture in the electronic components and internal connecttions, and the device is permanently damaged.

well when you washed it it probably got water in the system try and take both sides off and take a dry towel and next time don't put water or soap near the creases

I have put my MP3 in a washing machine

thats weird because mine went through the wash and its oerfectly fine.
make sure you mom didnt over heat the wires or anything inside of your mp3. its possible that your mom fried it.
