Sony NW-A1000 Hi, Recently my mp3 player will not switch on fully. I thought it was the battery but the red light on the adapter will not come on when its plugged into a socket or into my laptop. When I do plug it into my laptop I get the message 'USB device not recognised'. When i try to put it on it looks like its about to start (I get the 1st screen, your music your life, and thats all) up but then switches off. The reset button has no effect at all. Ive reinstalled the software and downloaded everything relevant from their websitebut nothing. The software keeps shutting down too. Any suggestions?

if u have a installer cd with the device then please install the driver then plug your device in the connectivity cable. then copy all yor songs to your computer.
Service Manual for the NW-A1000 available here find page 6 for the Lithium Ion battery exploded diagram and how to change it I think its a 3.7V sealed cell.
Try pushing the reset button (located next to where you connect the USB) with a small pin or paper clip. If this doesn't work you might have to contact Sony.
just today figured out that the battery supposed to be at least 17 hours and i bought it before 2 years too and even when i bought it was my battery left only for 2 hours and until today i thought it is supposed to be like that.
