Picture reversed and upside down on screen????????

Well, the 'subject' list really says it all. When you open this sd-p1200 the 'welcome' screen comes on very clearly......however the picture is upside down and reversed!!!!! I am just perplexed as to whether there is an easy fix for this or the screen has been installed incorrectly. Again, the picture and sound are just fine; however, the picture is reversed and upside down. Help! I'm just lost and would appreciate any help.

Hi By reversed, do you mean that if you turn the unit upside down, any writing on the screen is then right side up, but backwards? If so...That is one for the record books! If it wasn't for the fact you say upside down, and reversed, I know that some of the portables are designed to work right side up, or you have the option to mount them to the inside roof of your vehicle upside down, then there is a setting to turn the picture upside down so it is right side up when you now flip the screen down... I hope that made sense.. If you have a camcoder with a flip-out screen, you can (on most models), turn the screen around so you can aim the camera at yourself, and see yourself on the screen...to do this the unit senses when you flip the screen all the way around, and flips the picture so it is not upside down. Hopefully this is the case with your unit, if not, I can't even guess how that is happening. Good Luck!

Start Menu Picture Disappeared Suddenly

Turn the Welcome screen on or off It sounds as if you accidentally turned off the welcome screen. Here's how to turn that function on and off:

To turn the Welcome screen on or off
You must have a computer administrator account on a computer that is a member of a workgroup or is a stand-alone computer to turn on or turn off the Use the Welcome screen feature. Logging on at the Welcome screen is not available on computers that are members of a network domain.
  1. Open shortcutcold.gifUser Accounts in Control Panel.
  2. Click Change the way users log on or off.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To specify that users log on to the computer using the Welcome screen, select the Use the Welcome screen check box. A user logs on to the computer by clicking his or her user account name on the Welcome screen. If a password is assigned to the account, the user is prompted to type it.
    • To specify that users log on to the computer without using the Welcome screen, clear the Use the Welcome screen check box. The Welcome screen will no longer appear when you start the computer. To log on to the computer, type your user name (and password, if you have one) in the standard Log On to Windows dialog box.
note.gif Notes
  • To open User Accounts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts.
  • Fast User Switching is available only when the Welcome screen is turned on. For more information, click Related Topics.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you require further assistance.
