Somehow, I removed the software necessary to run the mp3. I can load songs onto it and put them on to my computer, but I cannot listen to music. When the unit is turned on, the screen says *No files*. Does anyone know where I can find the software to make it function again??
Thank you so much!

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, etc. from MP3 Player ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now your mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DELETE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.

One of the typical problems people run into with MP3 players is that they lose the software that came with the player and can't figure out how to get music on or off the player. So here's a quick how to. This will work with most brands of MP3 players, or even USB flash drives.
First you need to plug it in to the USB port, if you are running anything newer than windows 98 you won't need a driver. Double click on my computer and it shows up as a removable disc(usually drive letter f:), double click this drive to open it as folder. This folder will show you all directory's and files on your player, here you can delete any songs on your player by finding the file and deleteing it. From here you can also put your music onto the player by copying and pasting your music files from your hard drive. If you are not sure where your music is located you can run a search by clicking START>SEARCH>FOR FILES OR FOLDERS (if you are running XP click pictures music or video, check music then click search, each file will have it's location in small print below it's name, or you can right click each song and hit copy, then go back to f: drive and right click and hit paste, you can copy more than one).
Hope this helps.
The player should have came with a usb connection cable as well as a CD with the software on it. The easiest way would be to install the software on your computer and then connect the player to your computer. Once connected, open up the program and it should load all of the songs.
I'm assuming you have the Zune software installed. You'll need the software in order to interact with the Zune device, it does not work as a "mass-storage device" like some other media players.
The Zune software will find all your music. Open the software and on the top left make sure you're in the "Collection" and then "Music" category. Then click on the right hand side on the "Songs" tab. You'll see all your songs on your computer. Connect the Zune and wait a few seconds and in the bottom left hand corner of the software you'll see your device connected.
Click on one of the songs and then press "CTRL + A" and all of your songs will be selected. Click and hold and then drag one of the songs to the little icon of your Zune in the bottom left and then all of your music will sync to the device.
Hope this helps.
Put it in MSC mode,Plug into your computer, open My Computer,(The player will show as a drive)Open up the player, open the folders and delete what you want deleted. Then when you want to add more songs,Open it the same way as above and drag and drop them. You do NOT need to use a media player to load or remove items. And Please rate this solution.

The best way to delete any unwanted content is to install and run the Philips Device Manager software from the product CD, and select the restore option.
This software is only compatible with Windows XP.
Viruses would not cause damage to the MP3 because they do not run any files loaded on to them
Load the Philips software onto your computer.
You have to load the songs onto the player using WMP (Windows Media Player) 8 or 9.
Connect the player using the USB cable.
Run the Philips Go Gear Digital Audio Player software. Upgrade the firmware. This will format the player and erase everything you have done so far.
Start WMP. Click on the Synch tab.It will have 2 window panes. In the right side, at the top, there is a drop list. Select the player from the list.
Now create a synch list by clicking on edit playlist. Once you have added the songs, click Start Synch.
That's all there is to it.
