If possible, try to restore the device to the newest firmware on it using your computer using this firmware:

Do a soft reset. This may resolve your issues and will also keep your data on the device.
Do a soft reset by:
1. Having the device already off
2. Press and hold the PAGES key
3. Press and hold the PWR key
4. Release both buttons when the USA map appears
If neither of those work, try a hard reset. This will however delete all stored data off your device.
To do a hard reset:
1. Have device off
2. Press and hold the ZIN&ZOUT Keys at the same time
3. Press and hold the PWR key
4. Release both buttons when the USA map appears
