Motor works, brush turns no suction

From your problem description, you may have a blockage in the foot. Check the intake under the vac by the roller.

Apparent common failure is that either the thin yellow and or blue motor drive wires that run from the LH side of the vacuum where the "control board" is located down into the hinge / ball area become stretched and then fray and eventually break. Happened to my Dyson twice. First repaired under warranty, second took about 20 minutes. You need a Torx screwdriver to remove the LH panel ( 4 screws) and also an access panel (2 screws) at the side of the ball which permits access to the blue / yellow wire connectors. I replaced with a new wire and connectors having fed the wires through the access hole making sure sure enough wire was available for the movement of the handle. Also ensure that when the covers are replaced they do not trap any wires underneath.

there is a belt that drives the beater brush. flip the unit over, you can remove the bottom cover by removing a couple of screws. to one side of the brush you will see a channel where the belt should be. go to you local walmart, sears or hardware store and in the vaccume section they will have belts, on each bag of belts will be a list of vaccumes that belt fits simply find yours. with the new belt simply lift the beater brush out at the belt channel side and install the belt around motor shaft and brush. then place brush back in place , be suer brush guides are in properly. this should do ya.
Testimonial: "Thank you so much!! I did try to take the bottom off my vacuum earlier and could only find one screw so I didn't want to break it. Will try again! <3 "

This vacum cleaner is equipped for auto shut off when it gets hot , It gets hot when it gets clogged either the little sponge filter is to dirty or the the round white filter in the dust collecting container.
But if they are both clean then it is clogged in the line probably with lot of carpet fiber, in that case you ned to take the dust container out and possibly the assembly from bottom like when you change the belt, then take of the Handle where the flex hose is attached, then you gonna need a wire hanger bend a long shape close to the shape of the hose line from handle to where it curved around in the bottom opening where it collects the dust behind the spin brush the just stick the hanger from the handle side cause the clog is probably in the lower side then just push the clogs out . Be care full not to puncture the flex hose with hanger. Its probably a good idea to bent the tip of the hanger so that it wont poke hole in the flex hose.
That's what happened with mine I spend hours and hours and days to figure it out. I could have just through it away, but it just kind a pissed me off and the War was on as stubborn as i am, but finally I won and I got the satisfaction of the sweet victory.
Waste lot of time though but it just one of those things. It never messed with me again.
But that is what's wrong with it. Good luck it a good vacum though very power full.
