Blue on bottom of screen

THE LAMP CAN ONLY AFFECT BRIGHTNESS NOT ANYTHING WITH VIDEO DISTORTION. THE BLUE DISTORTION WILL BE A OPTICAL ENGINE DEFECT AND MOST LIKELY NON-ECONOMICAL TO REPAIR.

I have same Lg Mw60sz12 that had blue lines.. I found out it was the box that we plug all the different cables in for surround sound, dvd etc. The connection was loose and caused the blue lines.. as soon as I got a new box the lines went..

Have heard that it's a common problem, there's an issue with the optical block. Sony is susposed to be aware of the problem & has exptended the warranties on some models or offers gift cards towards the purchase of a new tv, depending on how hard u push once u get someone on the phone.

Same problem

It is not the bulb it is the blue polarizer lens in the engine. LG has made it available and an LG authorized service center can probably replace it for you, although many are just replacing engines which will be VERY expensive. Good Luck

We have had our RU-60SZ30 for almost 3 years. After 13 months it did the same thing, LG covered the cost of the part,($3000.00) according to their certified repair center, but they charged us $500.00 for labor. Now today, 15 months later it is doing it again. I just got off the phone with LG and they say "too bad, you're out of warranty" So my TV that I paid $4000.00 for, has gone out twice in less than 36 months and LG says, "Oh well" After searching the web I found a law firm in New York that looks like they are putting together a class action suit regarding our model.
