Im sure the help would be the same for this problem. This washing machine fills with water but it will not agitate or spin (extract). I pulled back cover off and the motor is not moving, its not a belt problem,or the door lid switch. I checked to see if motor is getting power, but it doesn,t seem that it is getting power. THe timer seems to work it moves all the way around the dial when left on. The motor just wont work.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I got this straight from the GE service people. If you have the model that has the magnetic strip sensor under the lid (to signify if the lid is closed or not) and not the pin kind...try this: 1. unplug the washer for about ten minutes, then plug back in. 2. open and close the lid five times. Seriously, this worked for me and I was having the same problem (the washer would fill but wouldn't agitate or spin). I guess this combination resets the electronics within the washer. Hope this helps!

JUST A QUICK SUGGESTION FOR YOU ... ON MOST WASHER MOTORS THERE IS A SMALL RESET BUTTON ON THE MOTOR ITSELF. TRY RESETING IT ... IF IT RESETS AND POPS RIGHT BACK OUT OR IS JUST FLOATING THE MOTOR IS MORE THAN LIKELY BAD OR ... YOU MAY ALSO HAVE A CAPACITOR START MOTOR. THE CAPACITOR IS UNDER A COVER ON THE MOTOR ITSELF THAT CAN BURN-OUT OR GO "OPEN CIRCUIT". THEY ARE REPLACEABLE. IT SEEMS YOU HAVE CHECKED ALL THE OTHER CULPRITS I USUALLY SUGGEST. I HOPE I COULD HELP OUT.

I have the same problem with my GE washer (GJXRP080B2WW). We started the washer before going out and when we came back home. The cycle finished and the cloths were clean but all wet! I then tried again and it did fill water and drain but didn't agitate or spin. I checked the lid switcher, the timer and the agitator which are fine. However, the motor belt doesn't move and it seems the motor doesn't work when power was on. There are a lot of wires connected to the motor and I don't know which one to check to be sure power goes to the motor. Could you please help me? Thanks.
BTW, I didn't find any Reset button or the start capacity...
