Question about Cowon System iAUDIO X5L Digital Media Player

IAudio X5L Whenever I play music and I have earphones in the sound keeps flicking on and off. The earphones are not the problem. I have to hold the earphone wire in to the into the little port where you insert the earphones and try to get the music to stay on. The voice recorder does not work either and I do not know why. Everything else seems to be in working order. Thank-you

I am having the same problem with the left hand speaker/headphone, I need to keep tweaking the connection and it is very frustrating.

SOURCE: Earphone socket on the Cowon iAudio XL5 30 gig.

try to send it back to Cowon company, or try to solder the joints, inside the mp3 player most likely it is at the top of the mp3 player, but know what your doing otherwise it can be destroyed, if you don't repair it the right way

If the player really can play flac and has a good DA converter, I think it is one of the best portable music players around.
I do use Shure SE425 and Stax RS-001 MK2 earphones (both in ear) I think the Sony NWZA17 would be a good match for both phones.
I use very expensive sound cards in my computer and only play Flac or real CD. Be aware not the amount of bits or the sample rate is important. The source used to make the digital recording decides how the result, coming out of you speakers (or earphones) can be.
My earphones can keep up with my electrostatic loudspeakers, so worth trying. If money is no issue the Shure SE535 would be great. Although more expensive than the Sony MWZA17. But once you have great earphones, they can be used for many years to come. The player will be replaced in at least 3 to 5 years

My headset just stopped playin sound???

If the stereo earphone output socket is in tact (not broken), most likely the problem maybe the Earphone-cord is broken.

Change OS to English

GOTO CONTROL PANEL-DATE,TIME LANGUAGES,-REGIONAL AND LANGUAGES-IN REGIONAL OPTIONS TAB USE THE "ENGLISH(UNITED STATES) CLICK APPLY AND THEN OK.

When I put my earbuds into my ipod touch only one side works

i have the same problem. its not the headphones. its the itouch. its something to do with the jack-i think. because whenever i jiggle the plug eventually i can hear some of my music eventually. its a pain. and so how do i fix that ish?

Yes it does, but the screen is small and the playback rate (15 frames per second) is slow for a fast action movie.

If you really want a video player with the same audio quality as the X5L, then take a look at the A2 from Cowon.

how do i charge my cowon iaudio x5L battery using the usb port? Hello, I used to plug my iaudio into my computer using the usb port and it would charge the battery - now when i plug it in it just says connected but does not charge. Need battery replacement I can't get Cowan support. When i try to register, i get no return e-mail. the registeration does not ask for a "username" but then when trying to post a question it asks for a "username" and won't permit access w/o it. My X5L 30 is about 3 years old. Batteries only last about 3 hours of playing time or full charge w/o play will go dead in about 4 days. I simply need info from Cowan where/how to send, how to pay, how long will take, will the replacement result in total loss of disk info. On the other hand if their support is so poor/inaccessible maybe i need to buy a different player? I like the player a lot but ... Thanks for any info or suggestion.

problem with Iaudio and DVD connection i used to watch movies through my DVD using the Iaudio X5L as a USB (loading movies on it and watching through the TV). 2 weeks ago, i discovered that every movie gets stuck around the 50th minute of the film. any idea what might cause this ? i would thank so much to anyone coming up with a solution for me. thanks Moran
