Some history would be appreciated.
Has this computer ever worked?
Have you recently added new hardware or software?
Has anything happened recently that may have caused this (lightning storm, etc.)?

If the computer was working fine and for no apparent reason now won't POST, first remove everything from the outside (keyboard, mouse, etc.) except monitor. If that works, one of the items you removed is causing a problem.

If not, unplug power, open case, remove all expansion cards except for video, then try again. If you have never worked inside a computer, some help from a knowledgeable friend would be advised. Be sure to touch the metal case before touching any circuit board inside the computer.
Also disconnect the cabling from all of the drives and then retry boot.

Let me know if this helps. If not, we can do more providing you are comfortable working inside the computer at my direction.

I have a gigabyte p4 pc, when i power it on the fan runs but it gives out a continuous beep. checked ram, processor on another motherboard, cleaned the motherboard, checked for loose cards and cables

The continous beep usually means a memory failure (RAM) or video memory if a plugin card is used.

Check to be sure the unit sees all of the memory, a weak power source( without AC adapter) could cause a partial failure of one memory card.

Another fault would be that the battery is very low on charge and won't accept any charge.

BAD Battery.

hope it helps

Packard Bell IMedia 5055: GA-8SIML will not post or boot. Removed all PCI cards,RAM,Hard drive, optical drives etc. Only CPU and mobo but no post/BIOS screen. CPU fan runs and front panel LEDs work. Do get...

Put just the ram back into the motherboard, the pc will not boot without processor, ram and graphics pluged into the board, check this, if it will still not boot and you still get 3 beeps its a memory(ram) problem, and you will need to replace the memory stick.

Motherboard power on but no display.

Greetings!

Check first if all the cable, wire are connected properly.
See also at the back of your power supply if the switch is on, cause some power supply have switch aside from your system unit.

Usually once you open your computer you can hear a beep sound if their is no beep sound means something wrong with your computer.

As you turn on the computer see the fan of your power supply at the back of your unit if it revolves if not something wrong with your power supply, if the fun of your power supply re volves it's your motherboard have something wrong.

Thanks

Motherboard problem

If your cpu fan is faster,it may be due to a higher frequency setting.
The frequency that it runs best at is 60 hz, but it can be running at 70 hz or higher.

Problem with GA 8LD533

There are a few easy fixes for this, first,

Clear the CMOS (Unplug the power cord, remove the battery, and (if it's an option) move the jumper J1 (it has three pins, the jumper covers two, move it to cover the other one), unplug everything external from the motherboard apart from the PSU and power switch and speaker, replace battery, powercord, and jp1, power up - what happens?
