Hello, You are facing several problems that must be first taken care of. The lens assembly is not sealed ermetically so if beer got into it..that's bad because no service center can dissasemble the lens assembly to clean them. However you should take your chance. First of all the camera needs to be dissasembled. Second, it's main board and buttons must be washed in something called izopropilic alcohol. Then the internal battery and external one must be removed and eventually a firmware update should be done. You may have all of these done in a service center, they aren't that expensive repairs. If after this repairs the pictures will come out blurry or distorded this means that the lens assembly was damaged. I think however that you should try these first. Please go to a service center, try the smaller ones, generic "camera repair service", not the larger ones working for large corporation (they tend to be expensive). Ask them for a cost estimate before actually repairing the camera. For more informations please reply back here. Good luck.

The screen on my camera will not display anything at all. The camera appears to turn on, but the screen is blank. Even when I switch it from one mode to another, there is nothing displayed on the screen

Have you tried taking pictures with it? Do the pictures show up when taken? If so, then it's likely that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

My cannon power shot sd600 viewer doesnt turn on

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD screen on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. Try pressing this button one more time to see if it turns back on.

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP (Display) button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off in picture taking mode to save battery power. You could then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn it back on, just the DISP button one more time.

When taking pictures there are lines across the pictures and sometimes the picts are really bright or discolored. What could be the cause of this?

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see the following for further info and a simple fix that may help:
