Have you tried to replace the fuse? Most likely there is a short circuit on the front side of the power supply. If you have any electronics repair experience, I would check for a shorted diode, bridge rectifier, or switching mosfet. You may be better off replacing the power supply.

My Sylvania tv won't turn on?

Most likely it's a capacitor fault.

Google "Capacitor bulge" and then search Youtube for your make and model to see if anyone has done an instructional video. You'll need to be comfortable dismantling the TV and be able to use a soldering iron. If this isn't you then take it to a repair shop.

Cause of blown fuse

Blown fuses are due to sudden power fluctuations and/or short circuits inside the TV. It is not advisable to replace the fuse, without checking for any internal shorts as it might damage more parts inside when making attempts. A qualified service technician will do a bulb check across the fuse to ensure there are no short circuits (The best way to do it).

Your panel is defective. Only fix is to replace - not cost effective. You need a new TV.

Tv turns on and stays on for a 30 second then shuts down.

Hello,

You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where,if otherwise the power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hoping this will help in solving the problem....
