Question about Whirlpool LTE5243DQ Combination Washer/Electric Dryer
I recently moved into a condo. It came with 5 appliances, including a Whirlpool Thin Twin washer dryer combo. I ran 1 empty load of laundry with bleach, in hopes of cleaning the machine... and when it got to the spin cycle, it was making a pretty loud banging sound. Once completed, I went to look into the washer itself, when I realized that the washer / spin basket was severely off center. When I went to try & straighten it, I realized that under the washer basket had filled up with water. I was wondering how I should go about trying to remove this water, if there is a risk of the water suddenly flooding my condo... and also, how big of a repair job this is. Is this something that I could take care of myself, or something that will require a professional? Hopefully someone can email me with some advice. Feel free to contact me directly: [email protected] Thanks in advance
You should be able to put it in spin and remove the water. if it don't you have a problem somewhere. There should be 3 springs hooked to the bottom of the tub to hold it on center if one breaks or comes loose it will be off balance. If you get water in the tub when not useing it and the water is on from the water line the water valve is leaking. If the water don't shut off when filling the water level switch could be bad.or the tube running to it could be stopped up pull the hose off the water level switch and blow through it if it bubbles in the tub it is ok. If can't blow through it it is stopped up.Hope this helps

You have a sock caught in the pump, need to pull off outer case and remove pump and clear it out.

Check the lid switch, the machine will not spin or drain without the lid switch being activated. You should be able to see if the switch actuator is broken or missing, look in the slot where the lid's plunger drops into, if you can see the gray plastic actuator, set the machine in the spin cycle and try to depress the switch with a flat screwdriver, if it runs, the switch is cracked and needs replaced, if the actuator looks fine, and you can hear a distinct "click" when you press down on it, it may be a problem in the timer, but check the lid switch first, that's most likely the problem.

Same problem here, however I can assist the start by rotating the drum while pushing start. May be a capacitor problem???
