The best place to download drivers is always the manufacturer's website. The Intel drivers for this motherboard are found here :)

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=1065

Since the 845 graphics chip does not have internal DX9 support there are no Vista drivers for it The 945 graphics is the first Intel chip for which there are Vista drivers available from Intel.

You can try the XP drivers. All depends on how different the chips are. Be sure to set the Install.exe program to XP compatibility (Properties dialog) and then run as administrator. Be sure to create a restore point first!

Sorry my prior post was not of much assistance, but one of the big drawbacks when Vista was released was that its demands were a bit beyond the capabilities of the average machines available at the time, particularly in terms of memory, processor and video. The Windows Aero interface is quite demanding and uses hardware accelerator features just not found on older integrated systems.

You have another option available. Do not try to use the onboard video but rather if you have an open PCI slot invest in a higher end PCI video card. Both ATI and nVidia made Vista compatible cards for PCI slots. Try your local CompUSA, Circuit City, etc., or try to find a used one on eBay. Depending on your budget, if might cost as little as $50 up to probably $200 for a top-end performer.

The alternative would be to upgrade to a different motherboard with Vista support capability.

Here is a related post I found online. Use at your own risk.
Intel 845 chipset graphic controller for Vista and Enable Direct Draw

How to make your Own graphic controller for Vista and enable direct draw

Vista is a big headache and creates too many Problems on Computers with old chipsets and processors (low power).
Monitor flickers too much and creates headache and you again install XP. Here I have tried to run vista on old computers who have increased their memory to more than 512 MB.

INTEL DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY DIRECT SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM, SO YOU HAVE TO MAKE GRAPHIC CONTROLLER BY YOUR OWN SO THAT YOU CAN EASILY RUN VISTA WITH REFRESH RATE OF ATLEAST 85 HZ. THIS ALSO ENABLES DIRECT DRAW ACCELERATION BECAUSE DIRECT DRAW IS NOT ENABLED ON STANDARD VGA ADAPTER DRIVER WHICH
COMES PREINSTALLED IN VISTA. FOR LOW POWER CHIPSETS, JUST CAREFULLY FOLLOW THESE STEPS.

CLICK ON THE DOWNLOAD LINK FOR INTEL http://downloadcenter.intel.com/license_...

    ACCEPT AGREEMENT AND DOWNLOAD
IEGD with CED for 845 (FOR DEVELOPERS ONLY).

Don't worry its very easy, you will be a developer also.
download this file and install it.and after installing this software you will see desktop icon "Shortcut to iegd-ced.exe". Run this program.

    1. CLICK ON NEW CONFIGURATION, GIVE IT A NAME. CHANGE PLATFORM CHIPSET ACCORDING TO YOUR CHISPET TYPE i.e. INTEL 845 GV CHIPSET IN THIS CASE. ENABLE DISPLAY DETECTION. ADD CRT IN AVAILABLE PORT DEVICES OR YOU MAY ADD MORE. CLICK NEXT. GIVE A NAME TO READABLE PORT NAME. SET PORT ROTATION TO "0". CLICK NEXT. AND USE DEFAULT AND FINISH.

    2. NOW CLICK ON NEW PACKAGE.GIVE IT A NEW NAME. SELECT CONFIGURATION NAME. SELECT TARGET OPERATING SYSTEM TO WINDOWS 2000/XP/XPE. DON'T WORRY IT WILL WORK ON VISTA. UNCHECK DISABLE 3D SUPPORT. AND FINISH.

    3. NOW SELECT A PACKAGE FILE YOU HAVE JUST CREATED FOR A GIVEN CONFIGURATION ON LEFT SIDE OF iegd.
GENERATE INSTALLATION. IT WILL CREATE A INSTALLATION FILE IN WIN ZIP ON LEFT SIDE.

4.EXTRACT IT TO A FOLDER BY DOUBLE CLICKING ON IEGD_6_1_WINDOWS.ZIP AND EXTRACT IT TO DESKTOP.

    5. CLICK ON UTILITIES FOLDER IN THE DESKTOP FOLDER "IEGD_6_1" YOU HAVE JUST CREATED.

    6. RUN SETUP FILE AS ADMINISTRATOR.

    7. OPEN DEVICE MANAGER BY RIGHT CLICKING ON MY COMPUTER AND SELECTING PROPERTIES. CLICK ON ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS

    8. CLICK HARDWARE ON SYSTEM PROPERTIES AND THEN SELECT DEVICE MANAGER. IN DEVICE MANAGER SELECT DISPLAY ADAPTER. RIGHT CLICK ON STANDARD VGA ADAPTER AND UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE. SELECT BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE AND SELECT ON THE INTEL CORPORATION 845 GRAPHIC CONTROLLER YOU HAVE JUST CREATED BUT IS NOT DIGITALLY SIGNED(TESTED BY MICROSOFT). DONT WORRY WE WILL TEST IT HERE. INSTALL IT AND RESTART COMPUTER.

    9. RIGHT CLICK ON DESKTOP AND CLICK ON PERSONALIZE. CLICK ON DISPLAY SETTINGS

    10. CHANGE RESOLUTION TO 1024& 768. CLICK ON ADVANCED SETTINGS.

    11. CLICK ON MONITOR TAB. CHANGE THE REFRESH RATE TO 85 HZ.

    12. NOW CLICK ON START. TYPE dxdiag in start search. and ENTER.

    13. DIRECT DRAW IS ALSO ENABLED AS YOU HAVE UPDATED YOUR DRIVERS MEANT FOR DISPLAY.

    14. If you have any problem viewing video, disable direct draw by going to display settings, clicking troubleshoot and decreasing acceleration.

    15. Monitor refresh rate has been changed now to its full frequency.

    16. Direct draw work only if you have hardware compatible.

Problem of vista on D845GVSR is absolutely solved..

after insallation of vista..

manually select driver from Device Manager..in vista..

your window 2000/XP Driver also work with this...

in the category of Display Adapter int deivce manager right click and then go properties..

slect manually driver .. there is option like "have disk" for driver update..

browse and select "autorun.inf" in "win2000" folder in your driver CD or Hardisk..then ok..

bcoz i have this motherboard and i installed driver ...

after installation . 3d screen saver smothely execute...
if u insalled graphic card on pci slots.. then u get good graphics.. for vista.. and all applications
smothley work..
