Lost the left rubber earbud on my noise cancelling MDR-NC10 Sony headphones. Anyone know where I can find a replacement? Thanks.

THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS IS TO GET THE REPLACEMENT JACK FROM AN AUDIO OR MUSICAL SUPPLIES SHOP.. ONCE YOU HAVE THIS CUT BACK THE CABLE OUTER SLEEVE TO SHOW THE CONNECTORS AND CABLES ON THE JACK..GET A SOLDERING IRON READY WITH SOLDER.. STRIP BACK A SMALL AMOUNT OT THE CABLE SLEEVE TO SHOW THE WIRES THEN STRIP BACK EACH OF THE CABLES AND TWIST THE ENDS SLIGHTLY..GET THE SOLDERING IRON HOT AND TOUCH THE WIRE TO THE END WHILST BRINGING TEH SOLDER TO THE WIRE TIP. IF TEH IRON AND WIRE ARE HOT ENOUGH A SMALL AMOUNT OF SOLDER WILL MELT ON TO THE WIRE TIP.. DONT HOLD THE WIRE TO LONG OR THE HEAT WILL MELT THE PLASTIC COATING., DI THE SAME FOR THE OTHER WIRE.THEN UNSREW TH NEW JACK YOU SHOULD SEE EITHER TWO OR THREE CONNECTORS MATCH UP THE NEW WITH THE OLD ON THE CONNECTOR AND SILDER ON ONE BY ONE THE SAME WAY JUST HOLD THE WIRE AND IRON TO THE PLATE AND HEAT WILL CAUSE THE SOLDER TO ATTATCH TO NEW CONNECTIONS..MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PUT THE SLEEVE ON THE WIRE BEFORE YOU SOLDER OR YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE IT OFF AGAIN TO PUT THE JACK BAK TOGETHER..TAKE YOUR TIME WIT THIS AS IF YOU TRY TO HURRY THE SOLDEDRING PART IT CAN BE MESSY AND NOT TAKE PROPERLY AND CAUSE BREAKAGE AWAY LATER IF THE JACK IS PULLED.. ONCE THE WIRES ARE SOLDERED ON TURN OVER THE GRIPS AND IT SHOULD WORK FINE.. I USUALLY GO FOR THE METAL TYPE JACKS AS THEY ARE STRONGER AND EASIER TO SOLDER.. GOOD LUCK A...

Hello to all who have exhausted all avenues seeking instructions on how to remove and replace Ear Pads on Sony MDR-V6 Headphones.... All that is required is a little patience maybe some fingernails... The Pads simply slip on and off by pinching ends of cuff that is nearest the plastic backing of The Headphones by pulling them from their seat/flange .. i found it easiest to just roll the cuff off using my thumb w/rolling motion away from the plastic backing/housing of the headphones.. no tools required.. they are installed exactally like one would place a tire on a rim.. exact same motion is required as when removing a tire.. i can give no better illustruction than comparrison to tire removal and replacement. Be careful to make sure one end in completely set deeply into one side before attempting to pull opposing side over its side/flange..start on top and work way around to bottom or vise versa.. To get an idea of what you are attempting to do take a close look at new headphone pad rear and you will see the small flap of leather on rear .. there is a small overlap that fits perfectly over the flange.. dont try to force it as you may tear them...

You can go to Radio Shack and find some that fit. Although Sony does not sell them as they woudl ofcourse want you to purchase new ones you can buy third party cushions that fit.

Okay, cut and strip the cord. There should be two copper wires and (on Sony headphones, at least) a red and a green strand. On a new 1/8" jack, there should be three connections. The middle one is left, and is where the green one goes. The short one on the side is right, and is where the red one goes. The long bit is the common, and is where the copper one goes. Before you solder, however, remember which strand is which, because you have to sand or burn off the colored enamel. (Use a fine grain paper, or use a standard lighter or stick match- anything else might damage or melt the wire)
