Sir,i hav purchased compaq cq40 108tu laptop,,and i am using the vistaoperating system,,but i dont hav a wifi driver to access the wireless connection...so please help me to overcome that problem

when was the laptop purchased. ifit's under warranty u get a free driver CD shipped if u call dell support or click here to download the driver. Under Network u get the Wifi driver too. let me know the results, thanx.
If that doesn't work, then go to www.hp.com, click on support and drivers, enter in your exact model number, click your operating system, then download the drivers for it.
You may find that the WiFi card needs new drivers. Some particular wifi adapters don't have XP drivers. Compaq are now owned by hewlett packard so go to www.hp.com and search for XP drivers for your wifi card there - luckily HP are very good for providing drivers for XP even on Vista-supplied systems.
if you go to the control panel /system /device manager if you see yellow exclamation /red marks or such then the drivers have not been loaded properly for those items in yellow.
