SOURCE: using self timer on my digital camera

1 In any Still mode, tap Settings to open the Settings
panel.
2 Tap Self-Timer/Burst repeatedly, until the desired
Self-timer icon appears at the bottom of the LCD:
10 seconds—A picture is taken after a 10-second
delay (so you have time to get into the scene).
2 seconds—A picture is taken after a 2-second
delay (for a steady, auto-shutter release on a
tripod).
2 shot—The first picture is taken after a 10-second
delay. A second picture is taken 8 seconds later.
3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.
The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay.

SOURCE: kodak v1073 lens cover won't open when camera is

Remove the batteries and clean the battery contacts inside the camera with a soft cloth (a heavy buildup on the contacts may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that the cleaning leaves in the camera, and then reinstall the batteries. This clears most power-on problems, but if yours persists, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

SOURCE: My USB cord is connected to my Kodak V1073 camera

After you plug it in you have to turn the camera on. Then open the easyshare software and go to "add pictures". But the camera must be powered on for the computer to see it.

No matter how long I charge my Kodak V1073, it just says insufficient batter when I turn it on. I'm lucky to take one picture before the battery dies.

If you just recently purchased this camera, please contact or call the Kodak help line. You may have received a battery that won't charge. Batteries need a charge at least once a month to keep them at maximum preformance. Leaving the camera battery uncharged for long periods of time can cause the battery to fail sooner than it should. If you do need to set aside your camera for a long period of time, put a full charge to it and then remove it from the camera. Most cameras (video cameras included), even if they are turned off, can trickle the charge down on your battery.

My v1073 turns off right after i turn it on. i dont get a pic or anything.

Make sure the camera is fully charged. It will shut off if it can not pull enough power off the battery. If you have a dock that you use to recharge it or a wall plug-in, plug the camera into it. Push the power button. Having it plugged in by-passes the battery. It should turn on when it is docked or plugged into the wall. If plugging or docking the camera does not turn the camera on, you have an issue that Kodak will need to resolve. Don't forget to have proof of purchase and check to see if your warranty is still valid. Hope that helps.
