Some keys on my Microsoft wireless keyboard 3000 dont work

The keys that don't work are: Back, Foward, the music controls (volume, mute), Web/Home, Search, and Mail

I've enabled an disbabled the F-Lock key and they still dont work.
All of the F1-F12 keys work. But those don't.

So if you could help, thanks in advanced.

OH and here's a picture of the keyboard so you know what keys im talking about ;)

Or somebody spilled (and didn't admit!) enough sweet drink there. SOmetimes you can gently scrudge up keys and clean. Other times better to buy new keyboads (they are plastic with a wire harness and cheap) off ebay. Watch this at 3:00min. mark to see how they come apart.

Dell wireless keyboard - one button controls at top not working

Hi,
You will probably need to set up those keys. If you have an installation disc that came with the keyboard try to install the software.
If you don't try going to control panel and then go to keyboards to see whether you can modify the keyboard settings.

Everything ok with this keyboard except one thing. I can't manage the volume with the keyboard.

Are you trying the volume control at the media controls? See here.

Also check to see that your Operating system volume control is on and up.

good luck.

Wireless Multimedia keyboard volume keys won't work.

Go to start and run then type services.msc or if using windows 7 just go to start and type services.msc in the search box. Once open find the service "Human Interface Device Access". Change it from manual to automatic and make sure that it is started.

Normal 0 Are you using Windows Vista? If you arethen go to Control Panel.
1. Click on PRINTERS.
2. When the Printer Properties comes up, CLICK on KEY SETTINGS.
3. Then set up the keys by selecting the Volume +/mute key which is the bottom one and click on it.
It will give you another window. Make sure you have a check in the block that says "Displays Volume and Mute Status on screen" Hope that will help some. Bud
Hope this helps. Bud

MS wireless laser keyboard 5000

Go to the Hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\hidserv\parameters, ServiceDll parameter defines the path to the file hidserv.dll that is needed to make sound+\- key workable. I searched for that file on my computer and found it at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ , but ServiceDll registry parameter pointed at %SystemRoot%\System32\hidserv.dll, so I changed it's value to %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\hidserv.dll, rebooted my computer and solved the problem;)
