Dear FixYa, I have had a panasonic lumix dmc-fz7 for the last year and it has worked perfectly.I recently moved my pc from one room to another and now when I plug the camera in to the usb socket nothing happens on the computer, it does not recognise it at all and I cant transfer the contents of the sd card. When I select "my computer" no external E drive is present indicating that the camera has not been recognised or detected. When the camera is plugged in to the usb the camera lcd screen shows " picture is displayedfor 4:3 tv and not "access" as I would normally expect. I have tried connecting the camera to different usb ports and recharging the battery. Please help I am getting increasingly frustrated. Thank you.
I have found a solution download and run this fix from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c680a7b6-e8fa-45c4-a171-1b389cfacdad&DisplayLang=en
You have to log off then back on....this has worked for me my two cameras are now offering the transfer wizard once more.

Picture display for 4:3 tv means wide screen. So check out your manual to get the camera back to normal TV format.

When I connect my camera to my PC, I get a message on the camera screen in red 'ACCESS' and on the PC 'your camera is not connected' or 'your camera is in use'
Tried the posted fix and nothing changed. Anybody have any other suggestions??
