Question about Kenmore 72062 Gas Dryer
J, by the sound of your post, I believe we can rule out the ignitor and thermal fuse because you are getting some heat. You need to remove the lower panel on this dott dryer and get into the blower wheel. There are two clips to push in on the lower panel, it will pull off. Remove the vent screen and the blower wheel housing will come off by removing the quarter inch screws securing it. Once that's off see if the wheel is rubbing against the shroud or has a build up of crap in it. You can run the dryer with these parts off to check the operation. Next you want to check your primary and secondary coils on the gas valve. This is not hard either. Two screws and they are off and on. Sounds like they are not holding and you are just heating for a few seconds. Make sure the vent to the outside is clear so you are not shutting down the gas on the high limit cut out. Look at the attached pics. Number 13 and 14 are the coils I mentioned. On the other pic number 4 is the blower wheel. By your post, sounds like it could be loose or something is in there. Check these things first, then post back. See if we are going in the right direction...Catriver.

looks like the blower wheel pic is too big to post, it's easy, just follow the above instructions.
