Disc Tray won't stay closed on Playstation 2

make shaw its not a ps3 game, not trying to be patronizing but ive had 3 people do that brought ps3 games and try to put them in ps2, its true sony are rip off merchants, my advise is not to get a wii ether go for a xbox 360, he will love you for ever. the download content alone you can get for rock band1/2 and guitar hero world tour is worth it

Hi! Here are the tips to get Rock Band work on the ps2: Clean the disc well. Run another disc in the PS2 for about 5 minutes, then try the Rock Band disc. Plug in a standard controller, navigate to the browser screen, and if the PS2 reads the disc, simply select it with the controller. Insert a copy of Rock Band Track Pack (PS2) and let it run until it gets to the Harmonix screen. Quickly switch this disc for the Rock Band disc, and reset the console. Insert the disc so that the "K" in Rock Band on is pointed at roughly 6 O'clock. If the disc isn't read, then open your PS2 and rotate the disc one hour to the right. Repeat this until it is working or until it is back at 6 O'clock. Be careful with your Rock Band disc as some of them barely work to start with, and you don't want to damage it more. have you tried taking the ps2 apart and fixing the disc read error? its common in the ps2 its simple. buy a can of air and take the ps2 apart and spray around lens not directly on it...i can send a link if you wish.

We had the same problem on a PS2 (thin) that is several years old. We tried exchanging the disk - same problem. We have a lot invested in the PS2 system and just bought several new games for it for Xmas so we decided to buy a new PS2 and see what happened. The Rock Band game works perfectly in the new PS2 with no issues.

1. CLEAN THE LASER. ALWAYS DO THIS FIRST. MOST TIMES THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO GET YOUR SYSTEM BACK RUNNING A 100% AGAIN

2. IF THE LASER CLEANING DON'T WORK ON YOUR PS2 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE THEN TRY ADJUSTING THE LASER VOTAGE.

3. IF THE LASER VOTAGE DON'T WORK YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE LASER

ughh my rock band disc loads the playstation2 screen and when the black is suppose to load it its doesnt go any farther and the playstation makes a beeping sound :( help!

Ok, I was having the same problem. You need to take your playstation apart and clean the laser with some alcohol. Only use alcohol as it dries faster and clear. Might as well clean the rest of the inside as well. you will be surprised at the dust it collects. After I done this my works fine.

Have you tried exchanging the game for a new copy?
