When your MP3 Player is connected to a computer, you may transfer music files to your MP3 player using your operating system's basic file management commands (i.e., copy-and-paste or drag-and-drop).Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer through its USB adapter.
Select "Open folder to view files" from the new device dialog box that pops up. If the new device dialog does not appear upon the hardware's connection, click "Start," click "My Computer" and right-click the Coby MP3 player's device icon in Windows Explorer .Click "Start," click "My Music" and open the folder containing the music you wish to transfer onto the Coby MP3 player.
Drag and drop the music files or folders into the Coby MP3 player's open directory. Alternatively, you can highlight the music files or folders and click the "Copy the selected" link from the Files and Folders Tasks menu in the left column. Select the "Removable Disk" drive from the list of destinations.
Delete songs and Format (Helps with try to delete BAD TRACKS and folders that will not delete(Some ripped CD folders).. Go to my computer scroll to your MP3 player and open the music folder and open each sub folder and delete Songs manually then delete the folders them selfs then format a couple of times hope this works
Did you try to go from the Main Menu into the EXPLORER ?
When you choose EXPLORER mode from the Main
menu, you will see the File Explorer screen. You can
find and delete files or folders from the player.
Function Key Action
To browse through the list of
files & folders
Press <UP> or
To select a folder Press <ENTER>
To return to the previous screen Press <LEFT>
To delete a selected item Press <MENU>
To return to the Main menu Hold <MENU>
You just click on My Pictures on the start menu, on the right hand side. Then you repeat this step, but click My Computer. At the bottom you should see an icon that says Removable disk (E:). You click that, and you should see the folders of your coby mp3 player. Now you just drag a picture from the My Pictures program to Pictures on the coby mp3 player folder, and THERE YA GO!!!
The files on your music menu are connected to the folders on your
computer. You can't delete the files from your music menu. You have to
delete them (or move them) from the folder you took them from.
I suggest that you create a special folder on your computer for only
the files you wish to put in coby media manager so that when you get a
message like you mentioned you can get the files off your list by
moving them back to your normal music folder.
I had the same problem - VERY frustrating. Just found the answer, and am very happy to share it!
1. In setting/USB mode, select MSC mode.
2. Plug in Coby to USB
3. Open My Computer. Look for the Coby as a REMOVABLE DISK, not the Coby.
Files will be there for Viewing and Deleting! (On XP, at least).
4. Make a backup of MTP.BIN and WMPInfo.xml, which I think is the operating sytem?
I got the clue from here:
Well, turn on you mp3 player, go on setting/USB mode and select MSC mode.
Then plug it on your computer and check in MICIN.DIR folder. You must find them.
It wasn't exactly what I saw, but once I looked, it was all there. Perfect!
