Distored red picture

The red picture is distored like a pincushion on up left conner. The green and blue look ok so far. Auto adjust do not work. Tried to adjust convergence manually (I bought a service manual). Is it the ICs on convergence amp and how do I know? They are two stk392-010. where do I get them and what is the proper process to replace them?

Sometimes a nearby speaker or cassette recorder or an old telephone may affect it, because of its magnetism power ,take away any nearby stuff and try manual reconvergence after a short power off for a reset ,

it is quiet clear that you have a bad convergenz due to magnetic field effect ,
the stk's are not the fault don't even try to resolder , that kind of ic loose its function for extra heat
please try to change your rate it is my only poor rate got byyou!!

I have a Sony KDP-57WS550 TV that has a convergence problem. Based on the symptoms, I'm not sure whether to indict the convergence ICs. In the convergence mode, I can move the red (and blue) crosses,...

With your TV in setup Use a small magnet to "move" the non converged Red, Blue, or, Green color lines "crosses" (each CRT will need to be adjusted in turn) by moving the magnet close to the offending Red, Blue or,Green color CRT yoke or, tube while observing the movement of the CRT color line "cross" in a mirror ( try several places near the tube and, several strengths of magnets:) a refrigerator sheet magnet works well (you can cut these with a scissors to make a better fit or, apply less magnetic "pull." by making them smaller (you may need more than one magnet per tube to fix each CRT's convergence) When you have each CRT tube's convergence right, apply some clear silicone adhesive to the magnet and, permanently affix the magnet to the now "fixed" CRT tube exactly where you placed the magnet to obtain the best convergence on the CRT.
(Do not adjust the "Green" CRT unless you must, as it is used as the color line to adjust other lines to)

My picture has far too much red in it. Where do I

there should be 5 or 6 preset on the crt(tube) base 3 of them should adjust red /green blue in the white aera and the other 3 adjust re/ green /blue in the dark aera make these adjustment with the colour turned off.
Sad to say that this is most likley a low crt the blue gun as gone low.

I have the opposite of a convergence problem. green pincushion cannot adjust so green is higher on left and right than center (bow tie). BUT red & blue will adjust and proprerly converge over the...

makenamicro, there is still a convergence yoke the green crt which means there is still a drive control circuit that controls your dynamic and static convergence. If you are working with out a service manual it is still possible that one of the convergence power amps is out, since you mentioned that you can adjust the red and blue to conform to the green pattern then try to adjust the green with out the R/B present if you ca not still adjust you green pincushion problem then suspect one of the power conv amps or a defective green conv yoke.(don't forget to check the small value resistors usually around 2 ohm and the pico fuses if the tv uses them. good luck and i hope i answered your questions, please let this web site know if yes by leaving some pos feedback. thanks!

Colors are off after auto adjust

I seem to have found the solution (and the cause, perhaps?) for this problem!

I was having the EXACT same problem with a monitor I'm repairing for a friend. The capacitors on the power supply board were blown (CapXon capacitors, who'd've guessed), which was keeping it from powering up. After replacing the capacitors, the screen worked beautifully. But it had this weird yellow tint!

The strange part was that pure colors - red, green, blue - all appeared perfectly OK on screen. Curiously, the menus would show in the proper colors, except for one: the manual color adjustment menu, which illustrated "Blue" as a sort of off-green in the icon. Auto-Adjust would always fix the colors for a split second, then go back to yellow. Reset didn't fix it. Color reset didn't either. So, exactly the same problem as above.

The solution I found was hidden within the main menu itself, a sort of "easter egg". Hold the Menu button down while pressing Power, and hold it down until the screen, and menu, appear. There will now be a hidden selection, "Auto Color", printed in a red-on-black font at the bottom of the menu. Use the +/- buttons to access it, and press Menu. Voila! PERFECT COLOR! Perhaps this menu was accessed by accident, and calibrated to an incorrect color key. But now my picture works great, and the setting lasts through Auto-Adjusts and Resets!

Hope this helps some people, it sure saved my ****! ;)

Red picture distorted

The complete convergence board AA95-02002A is avaiable through PTS electronics. You can call them at 1-800-844-7871. By the time you buy the right ICs for this unit, replace, them, it will cost you almost as much as another board. Samsung does not ave this board available any more. you can buy cheap replacement ICsl for about 20 bucks, but that would be a big mistake. Good Luck

Pincushion Picture on a big TV screen!!!

The set has 3 IC's(one for each color)strictly dedicated for the aligment of each color,if one them does not align is because is going bad or is already bad becuase picture can not be adjusted, the IC's can be identify because they are mounted on a heat sink and have the markings STK--- ---,they are all the same and need to be replaced with an exact replacement. If you are familiar with tv service you can replace them, sometimes the new ones need to be aligned from the service menu, you will need the service manual, soldering and unsoldering will be involved,If you are not too familiar be safe and seek the assistance of a servicer.
