Live in SoCal and our power was out when I woke up this morning. I own two different Pioneer Receivers and BOTH are stuck in stand by mode! They are both pluged in through top of the line surge protection units, so I cannot understand the problem. Please help
My power failed also and I am in Stand By mode also. According to the owners manuel if the stand by light is blinking it says to take it to an authorized pioneer repair dealer. My nearest repair center is 65 miles away. I was hoping this is an easy repair -- changing an internal fuse?

The orange light indicates its stuck in charging mode. Hold volume down and power for 15 seconds, you should see the bottom buttons flash a few times and it will go into recovery mode. Use volume keys to highlight restart phone and press power once.
Can you explain a bit more? Generally speaking when this kind of component shows that behavior means that is stuck in protect mode because it has an internal fault, and furthermore in the power amp output section.
A lot of people are confused about turning the TV 'off'. If there is a light showing when the TV is 'off' it is merely on 'stand-by' and not truly off. Off means being physically turned off by either the switch on the set or the mains. using the remote to turn 'off' the TV will not turn off it will only put the set into stand-by mode. In many cases if the TV is in stand-by mode, and then switched off, when the set is turned back on, it will still be in stand-by mode, and will need to be turned on with the remote. (even if you unplug, in some cases) All TV's are different, so will operate differently of course.
You should still be able to turn the radio on even if it is in demo mode. If you can''t turn the radio on, you have other problems. Did you try pressing the source button? Most pioneer radios tell you how to turn demo mode off when you first put power to it.
