Motorola RAZR won't charge

When I plug it into the charger it says "Unauthorized Charger", but the charger works with another identical phone.

Didn't really address the issue. The charger in question worked for 5 months and suddenly no charger seems to work.

I have the same problem. I let the battery die in the hopes it would reset. Now it says unable to charge.

Per customer service try cleaning the contacts where your charger plugs into the phone. I Tried it and it worked for a day now it is saying unable to charge again.

Says can't charge. New battery. Worked ok for a couple of charges.
Now it just won't come on.

    Same problem - Unauthorized Charger.

The wall charger I'm using came with the phone as did the car charger.

The computer says Unauthorized Charger. The only way I can get it to charge is to plug the car charger into the 12volt dc plug of my booster cables.

My Razr was working fine, up until yesterday night when it was low on battery. I put in on the charger and it wouldn't charge, I moved the charger to many different outlets and It still didn't. I took the battery out and put it back in, it said charging for about 5 seconds got a quick battery boost that quickly disappeared and where it said 'charging' it now said '11/27/08'.
    Screw Razrs... :(

I've always been able to charge my razr, used the same charger everytime, then randomly now the battery was low, so I plugged it into charge and now it says unathorized charger failure to charge. Also the bar where the battery should be is just.....gone.

That happens mostly with third party chargers..you may want to explore the option of charging your phone using the PC and a USB cable...you may be required to download a software or driver for it ..along with eh motorola phone tool

Motorola Razr phone charger gets message, ''unauthorized charger.

The problem was in the point of connection between the charger cord jack and the cell phone charger receptacle.  By moving the jack within the connection I was able to resume charging.  The connection may have become faulty as a result of heavy usage.

"Unauthorized Charger"

you can try to clean the charger port (but first make sure its not bent, or broken - the pins are really tiny and hard to see, so make sure)
But try cleaning the charge port on the phone and the charger with denatured (rubbing) alcohol, and a toothbrush -

Just make sure not to plug it in when you do this!

and clean both the charger and phone, make sure neither are bent
lastly, try a new charger!

Charging

Its the battery.

You can try putting the battery in the freezer for 8 hours, then leave it at room temperature for 24 to see if it can be saved.

Best of Luck.

Won't recgonize charger now

I'm not very sure about how the problem can be fixed, but the best thing to try is probably to make sure the charger is clean, and if it still doesn't work, try it on a different RAZR charger.
