Question about Carrier 38CKC030 Air Conditioner

Open Question

I have a Carrier thermostat model TB-NHP01 and just installed it. Went to change the temperature and the screen went blank and stays blank. Bought this one to replace previous one which had the same

Screen is blank, buttons seem to do nothing. Furnace, however, does continue to run - you just can't change the temp. It appropriately cycles on and off. This new thermostat is non returnable so can someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

Contact the company that installed the unit. Its new, under warranty, Anything you do could void the warranty. If they do not take care of the problem without charges contact Carrier and tell them what's going on. The company who installed the unit is responsible for making it run correctly. Hi!!! Does your ac unit work fine?If not check your low voltage problem..You have a low voltage problem check the wire going out to your condensor make sure that they are not touching..Good luck..Check low voltage wires..short in progress..

The stat that works is called the main and the other two are called slave stats. The stats must be set to heat or cool the same as the main. If you want one room to cool and one to heat , sorry. Need to upgrade to auto changeover. Is this AC actally a Heat pump?

Carrier infinity thermostat went blank when I touched my finger on the fan button and a static charge jumped from my finger and the screen went blank. All functions are working except the screen.
Every issue I've had with the Infinity has been a strange one. The blank screen is something I've seen and it was just a month ago. But I have no idea how I fixed it. Screen was blank but had the back light illuminated/was green but no numbers or letters displayed. I removed the tstat from its base, checked the pins on the back to see if any were bent or damaged. Tightened all wire terminals. Checked for 24v(present). Reinstalled to its base. Walked to my work truck and downloaded a manual. Walked back inside and the screen was now visable, with all numbers/letters present. I'm guessing I reset it by removing it from its power source? Also, at the indoor units' control wire terminal block, there is an A B C D. And most installers will connect 2 wires in each of these terminals. This is not correct and will give trouble due to a lost connection. You can try to tighten these low voltage terminals A B C D. The correct way to wire is at A, 1 wire is connected. That 1 wire is then connected to the 2 wires with a wirenut. B C D should be in the same way. 2 wires in this 1 terminal WILL lose connection and not communicate with the tstat. If this don't help, the tstat may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Is the display blank on the thermostat because the RUUD stpped working, or the thermostat is not working?
check fuse protecting low voltage transformer.

Carrier thermostat went blank, all fuses are fine. I flushed out condensate line and a little water came out. AC still wont turn back on
sounds like u might have a bad thermostat wire some where,maybe out by the condenser unit

Carrier a/c thermostat was working fine, then display went blank!
if it has no batt I would ck transformer for 24to26 volts no voltage replece transformer be sure trans has 115 volts to it trans should be in furnace section

The thermostat worked correctly for months then
Go to honeywell.com
Under red welcome sign
Bottom red highlighted box literature/image search
Type in thermostat model number
Click on arrow to right
Then click on the PDF files owners manual / installation instructions

Robert Shaw thermostat suddenly went blank
Best solution GET RID IT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE....Original 9420 installed 8-18-06 changed temperature by itself and would not allow any adjustments...this one replaced on 1-3-08 and this one is doing same thing. Heat set on 70 when I noticed it getting extremely hot I checked thermostat and it was on 99 and would not allow me to adjust. Switched to off position waited 25 minutes and cut back on to heat....still will not allow me to adjust down from 99.....THIS PIECE OF **** WILL BE REPLACED TOMORROW WITH ANOTHER TYPE OF THERMOSTAT.

I have a Carrier 38tra048340 ac 4 ton unit outside, heater in attic. Thermostat is Totaline P374-1100. Power went out than back on after a few hours due to vehicle crashing into power pole. AC was running...
Blank screen sounds like a fried thermosat. Abrupt outages can affect certain types of thermostats. Make a jumper wire and jump across R and G. See if you get any action from anywhere. If a fan or compressor kicks in you know you have a burned out thermosat...
