Recovery partition image download for dv9910us

James,

There is not a download available for the recovery partitions. However, you can contact HP directly to order new media for restoring the hard drive.

The link to get you going is: https://warp2.external.hp.com/driver/dr_country_select.asp?Product=483904-003&lang=en&cc=us

I hope that helps.

How do I replace the hard disk in a hp pavillion dv9910us ?

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.hp.com
and enter the model-number of your HP system, and do the search.
Select the downloadable documentation, namely the "Service Manual",
which tells a qualified technician how to disassemble that particular model.
Follow the instructions.

HP dv9910us doesn't make it through POST. No beeps - LED's come on, searches CD and powers off. After 4-5 seconds it repeats

I had the same thing
The motherboard needs repair
I checked out new one and some repair options on line and thought it wasn't worth it
I put it in a box for about a year and was going to junk it when I heard on youtube about how to bake it in an oven so I did it just the way they said and put all back together and I'm typing this on it just don't know if the battery is bad or the bake killed the charging on it
Not a sure thing but it was junk anyway

How do I replace the dvd drive in a hp pavillion dv9910us?

The DVD drive is usually held in place with two screws some-times one. These screws can be found on the underside of your laptop, the screw will be marked with a picture of a DVD/CD. Once these screws are removed the DVD can simply be pulled out and the exact replacement drive can be installed. Now reinstall the screws and bam, you're all done!

All the best!

Constant rebooting on\off every 2 seconds

This happens when the Nvidia chip on the motherboard overheats and the solder points around this chip fail. The motherboard needs to be "reflowed" or replaced. The chip in question is the Nvidia chip adjacent to the processor.
