The ink cartridge of my Swarovski pen will not stay out. If I twist the tip to expose the pen tip, the pen cartridge moves back into the chamber as soon as I put the pen to paper. It feels as if a spring or cap is missing that puts tension on the ink cartridge to stay out while I write.
I never received any answers on fixya. Because the pen was only three months old when it stopped working, I took it back to the retail store at the mall. They replaced the ink cartridge and the silver, turning tip portion of the pen. It has worked well since then. You might try the same if you have a retail store near you. Pull up the top of the pen (with the clip). Remove the refill cartridge and examine it. If it is not damaged put it back in and fasten it in place by twisting. The cartridge comes with a colored plastic top. The cartridge must be inserted with the plastic on.That top must not be removed.
Try this: take a small, sharp knife and make sure the air slit on the top of the cartridge goes all the way through the plastic.
You know that little tab you have pull off the top of the cartridge before inserting in the print head? There is a tiny slit under the tabto let air in, which is necessary to let the ink flow out. The slit is made very small so ink won't leak inadvertently out the top. Sometimes the slit doesn't go all the way through the plastic. When that happens, the ink can't flow.
I blew through that slit on a defective cartridge and no ink came out. I used a pen knife to open the slit (it doesn't take much) and then blew again. This time ink spewed out the bottom. My print test showed the black ink coming through. It was a bit spotty so I cleaned the print head and now the black ink comes out just like its supposed to.
First of all understand what is cartridge the you can solve your problem your self in future if related same: The cartridge contains two parts 1. ink tank, 2. Pen(electronic nozzles controlled by mother board).. Ink tank contains ink & main source to pen to write,.. if ink is over you wont get any image.Ink is there but pen is not writing then no use..both conbination has work to gether to create image..As you said ink is there, but pen is not working due to ecetronic nozzles are faulty & this information with mother board, that's why its indicating that replace the cartrdige..And we can't repair it because of micro technology. See fig: 1. Container, 2.Nozzles. 3. Electronic contacts to control nozzles..
There are a couple reasons a pen refill won't start writing right away. The first thing to check is the tip--often there is a bit of glue or plastic over it in order to prevent leaking.
If that doesn't work, then try one (or both) of the following two methods:
1) Place the refill (but not the tip) in some warm water. Heat will allow the liquid in the gel pen to become thinner and flow more naturally.
2) Hook a rubber band around the middle of the pen, using tape to ensure safety, and wind the pen while holding the rubber band on either side of the pen. Make sure the cap is on the pen. When the rubber band is tight, when you pull straight out on the rubber band from both sides of the pen, it should spin very quickly. The centripetal force will cause the liquid in the pen (at least half of it) to move toward the tip.
Make sure you fasten the rubber band to the pen with tape or something similar; otherwise the pen may go flying off at someone nearby. Also, again, make sure the cap is on to prevent any ink spraying out--this is unlikely in a gel pen, but it could happen.
Here's how to change your cartridges:
1 Make sure the printer is on.
2 Lift the scanner unit. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy.
3 Press down on the cartridge carrier latch to raise the cartridge carrier lid.
4 Remove the used print cartridge.
Note: If you are removing both cartridges, repeat step 3 and step 4 for the second cartridge.
Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier
won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and
the cover is open. Follow the steps below:
1. Unplug the printer from the power
source.
2. With the cover open, hold the
solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge
carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.
Go to www.inkjet411.com or www.costcoinkjetrefill.com for tips on how to get around this problem. The printer thinks it is an old cartridge. By resetting the printer it will sometimes fix the problem and let you use the cartridge. Can also use 2-3 cartridges in a rotation to trick the printer
was it a ball-point or ink pen tip???
if it is ball-pint. then all you have to do is get a refill cartridge from any of the office supply store or specialty shop.
if it is a fountain pen tip, then you have to send it back to cross for repair.
Ok, after my wife washed mine in my jeans, i really desperate and decided that I had nothing to lose. I searched all over the web for ways to do this and nothing!!!! So today I grew a pair and tried something and low and behold... so anyway.
*!*!*!* Remove the rubber grip and button first
(untwist tip cap and remove threaded section, slip fingernail under top edge of button and pop it straight up and off, slide rubber grip off towards point *just in case*)
Grasp your pen in both hands with the tip facing to the left
left hand should be grasped covering the tip and ONLY the section that has the recessed barrel with the raised button ridge.
Right hand should be grasped just off of the first diameter reduction from the right (ie. where the just before the pen gets thinner) and covering the eraser (unless you have really small hands)
CAREFULLY but firmly pull the two halves of the pen apart from each other !**!*!DO NOT TWIST THE PEN!!!! the pen should come apart without a problem and now you have access to the inner goodness of the Wacom Intuos Pen
Note: when putting the pen back together, be gentle and place the board in the eraser side first, if it doesn't push the eraser tip up, twist it slowly till it slides all the way in (be sure to try to leave a tiny space for eraser play.) Twist the pen (board and eraser cap end) until you can see the two receptors for the buttons, slide the tip end cap on and press firmly until the caps seat together and the holes line up for the switch. slip the rubber cover back on, twist on the threaded tip and clip the button back on, that should do it, Hope this helps!
