Connection of a DVD/VCR player.

I don't have cable, which requires me to have a converter box connected to my television. Now would like to connect a DVD/VCR player and am at a loss on how to do so. Please advise. Cynthia

Your GE TV most likely doesn't have anything but a antenna input on it? If that the case to connect a DVD player you must purchase a RF modulator to convert the video and audio output of a DVD player to a channel 3 or 4 output. Here is a link for one at Radio Shack.

SOURCE: Trying to connect my DISH DVR, GE TV and DVD/VCR

In that case you may require an adapter box that allows multiple items to be plugged in to one socket. Ebay stock this sort of item as do electronics Hi Fi outlets, Radio Shack, Maplins etc.
Hope this helps.

What do I need to connect an old TV with only one output on back to a TWC cable box, DVD Player, VCR and a Play Station?

Just connect the PS3 it also works as a DVD player. Do you really need a VCR player? You can get a converter box to stream the VCR footage through the DVD player/ PS3

Quasar tv/vcr combo

A converter box is not needed to connect a DVD player to a TV. However, you do need a single cable with red, white, and yellow adapters orconnecterson one end and at least yellow and white on the other end. Ok if you have red; just don't worry if there isn't a hole to plug into.

How to watch dvds with a converter box connected

You should connect the dvd player directly to the television and not the converter box.

DVD player may have red, white, (audio) and yellow (video) connections or it will have the red and white connections for audio and then red green blue for video.

Connection depends on the television inputs.

i hope this helps, if not send me another question I will walk you through it.

Magnavox DVD/VCR Dual

Usually a cable box has a RF (antenna connect) IN (from the external signal) OUT (cable going to the TV_RF in)
Usually one has to place TV_channel on 3 or 6 (my TV ch. 60).
EXTERNAL signal goes in CABLE box RF_in, CABLE box RF_out to the TV (RF_in).
In order to connect DVD/VCR, [IN LINE with cable & TV] just connect the RF_out from CABLE BOX into the RF_in of the DVD/VCR, RF_out of DVD/VCR to the TV RF_in.

How to connect my dvd & vcr with the converter box

Here is my setup.
1) Separate DVD player 2) Separate VCR 3) Digital to Analog Converter box 4) Analog TV 5) Rabbit ears (UHF/VHF) antenna
The antenna goes into the converter box.   The RF-output of the converter goes into the RF-Input of the VCR The DVD output goes into the front input jacks of the VCR The VCR RF-output goes into the TV RF-Input The VCR Line output goes into the front of the TV
To watch DVDs, we turn on the DVD player, turn on the VCR, and set the VCR channel to L2, and tune the TV to channel 3.  The converter is off.
To auto record on the VCR, the converter must be tuned to the station being recorded.  The converted must be turned on, the TV can be off.
To watch VCR tapes, turn the TV and VCR on.  The TV is set to channel 3.  Just press play on the VCR.
To Watch TV.   Turn the TV and converter on.  The TV is set to channel 3.   Change the stations using the converter.

Need directions to install a dch70 box to tv

dear woolifer ,
I am not an expert but i hope i can help you..
is it youmean digital cablebox?
if it is try this-

This is a problem a lot of people have with coaxial-only televisions because DVD players do not have coaxial (RF) outputs, which means they can't be connected directly into a television with only a coaxial (RF) input. The solution is to purchase a RF modulator, which is a small device that will convert the AV output from the DVD player to coaxial (RF).
As for the instructions, I am going to assume the DVD player is not a combo unit with the VCR, and that you want to record TV on your VCR. Step 4 will include connecting your DVD player, but if the DVD player is a combo unit with the VCR, just ignore step 4 part as DVD connection will be included in the VCR set up. Actually, you wouldn't need the RF modulator if it is a VCD/DVD combo unit.
  1. Connect the coaxial cable coming out from the wall to your digital cable box in the ‘video in’ slot. It might also be labeled ‘antenna in’ or ‘cable in’.
  2. From the cable box, connect a coaxial or composite (yellow video cable) and stereo (red-white) RCA audio cables to the VIDEO IN terminal on your VCR.
  3. From the VCR, you will have to connect this to the RF Modulator using a coaxial cable from the VIDEO OUT on the VCR to one of the IN ports on your RF modulator.
  4. You can now connect your DVD player to the RF Modulator by using the yellow-red-white composite/RCA cables from the VIDEO OUT on the DVD player to another port on the RF modulator.
  5. From the RF modulator, connect this unit to your TV by using a coaxial cable. It will be from the VIDEO OUT on the RF modulator to the VIDEO IN or CABLE or ANTENNA IN port on your television.
This should be all you need to get started watching your digital television. In simple terms here is what you did:
Coaxial from wall to cable box
Cable box to VCR
VCR to RF modulator
DVD player to RF Modulator
RF modulator to TV
You will only be able to record what is on channel
