I placed a load of laundry in, some jeans and shirts. It filled and washed, but come the spin cycle the water drained and a loud clicking noise started.
The tub did not spin. So now all it does is leave wet clothes in the machine.

Re: Loud clicking noise at spin cycle
It sounds like you have a motor coupling that has gone bad. Most of the Kenmore top loaders that I'm familiar with are direct drive machines. Which means, they use a motor coupling between the electric drive motor and transmission to run. If you are in the habit of doing heavy loads like comforters, blankets and jeans this can put a heavy burden on the motor coupler and wear it out faster. The coupler is designed to take the burden of the punishment in order to protect the transmission and drive motor and it is common for them to wear out. The coupler is fairly easy to replace and usually runs about $15. It is located inside the machine between the drive motor and transmission under the wash tub. You would have to remove the outside machine casing, the water pump and drive motor to get to it, though. Make sure the machine is unplugged before attempting any repairs involving removal of the drive motor. If you are not mechanically inclined, you may want to seek the aid of a repairman. I hope this helps.

Troubleshoot your Admiral Top Load Washer that has these following ... Speed Queen, Amana Whirlpool ..... Lid lock lightflases; no spin cycle.
It sounds like your drain pump has failed or has something stuck in it. You didn't specify a make and model so all I can say is that there are several good videos on YouTube about this problem because it's fairly common. Good luck!
Those parts you can check 1/ strings holding the drum were broken causing drum unbalancing when it spins. 2/ Drum bearing also gone. (noise) 3/ 3 slides that located underneath the triangle frame need replaced.
Hi, Can you tell me if the spin cycle works? It sounds like maybe a couler has gone bad. Also check and see if the lower half of the agitator is working at all. Please let me know and I can help you through this.
There is nothing wrong with your machine. Don'f bother with the sound , You said you threw 2 pair of jeans, so its bottons are causing the sound against the drum during cycle. Finished your laundry and worry no more. To make sure, throw some another clothing asides form jeans, like shirts, and feel the normal silent of your machine.
