Generic Problem I am getting a Toshiba 50" projection tv from a friend. The only problem is that the power went out one day and since then the tv shows 3 pictures. Is it going to be worth getting fixed?
You will need to replace or have the convergence ICs changed out. Not really a hard job and should cost you about 225 to 375 to have this set repaired. Good Luck

Its called a micro-switch and they are fairly generic--look for a parts set similar to yours. If you need the actual plastic button array try Toshiba who might still have it.

with my projection tv , i have a Mitsubishi dlp, the screen went black and a red light flashed it was the bulb that had to replaced i dont know if that maybe your problem.
Hi Shaun. I just picked a new lenticular screen for Toshiba TZ50V61. I went to their Web-page and it showed me where there was Toshiba -based warranty shops according to Zip or area code. I went to one near my area and ordered a screen. It took three weeks to get to me and cost $170.00. I live in Canada so you might get one faster and cheaper.
Sounds like a problem in the deflection circuits either vertical or horizontal. You may also want to check the solder connections in the tuner as they have been known to develop cracks over time. But the prior shrinking tends to say deflection problems.If I can assist you further please let me know.
