Update with disc model BH100

Own BH100 model dvd player (Blue ray/HD player) message indicated we need upgrade. called request upgrade disc, rec disc damaged (split).
Is there a way to secure upgrade by internet? How does it work? do I download a file to a cd or dvd disc and load in player?

any assistance would be greatly apprec.

Blue ray player will not play copy of Avatar film, error report says it requires an upgrade, where do I find upgrade?

an upgrade or an update? If it needs an update then it probably has an ethernet port for you to hook it up to your router and it should download the update and install it.

Blue ray player wont play a new disk says it needs

Software updates have to be done on bluray players whenever the technology in bluray discs themselve is changed. If you call the number for 20th century fox on the back of the bluray a representative there will explain to you what has changed technologically in this bluray that has caused there to be software updates for all of the bluray players. I believe LG can send you a disc so that you can update your player. Give them a call. The bluray players are all manufactured and shipped to the stores. In the meantime if an update is needed and its sitting on the shelf at the store until you buy it, even if you've just bought it an hour ago it will still need to be updated. The stores do not unbox the blu ray players and update them for you. However the Geek squad will update bluray players for customers for a fee.

New blu-ray dvd's won't play properly

Latest version is v071101a. you can find it here and burn to disc.
Or contact LG for a disc.
As a work around you might try to switch between PCM and bitstream and see if that helps.

Since the LG combo platform doesnt suppourt many HD features if you are thinking about buying new Blu-ray player (since the format war is over) I would go with the PS3 - best value for the price, is already set up for adavnaced features such as internet connectivity (with auto software updates), even if you dont use the game features.

Won't play hd dvd

Blu-Ray will never play HD-DVD's, and HD-DVD's will never play Blu-Ray - they are competing technologies. Sorry.
