Showing "Disc Error" While playing DVD's

It could be just the disc that's faulty. I suggest you return it from where you bought it.

Take the top case off the unit, power on, and place a dvd into disc tray. Press the play button and see what happens. It should find the dvd, clamp it in the reader and then spin it at high speed. If it does this and still says disc error, then the read head is bad. If it does not spin at high speed, then the epindle motor is bad. This is the more common error with Samsungs. Repair shop time.

1. Try cleaning the drive laser lens with a CD lens cleaner.
2. You need to check servo parts, spindle motor and pick up flat cable.
3. Clean laser lens manually.

most of the movie if download from the net protected my different formating keeping people from burning and selling coppies. as long as your dvd play dvd is working fine. I got lots of those downloaded movies from a friend myself some play and some dont. I bet you if you go through most of your copy dvd some will play and some dont. Your sysytem may read some dvd VS mine may read some of your's that you system dont reads, you will not find a unit" DVD" will deformat the protection copy rights. I have 850.00 unit almost top of the line still wont read lots of copy DVD.

For clarification, was this home theatre system purchased in North America? If so, in all odds it is a "Region 1" DVD player. To play a "Region 2" video, you will need either a 'multi region' player or one that is designated as a "Region 2"

wrong reganal code most likely there are sites were you can unlock your dvd player (hack it) so it will play disks from anyware

TThe player does not play this type of dvd disk! only pre-recorded movies and CDs Try hooking Up a player that plays DVD+ and DVD- disks!Hope I was of help!

New Blu Ray home theater player can not play new Blu Ray movies according to Samsung customer support. It is a JAVA code issue and they are working on a software upgrade. No release date is known. I tried playing The Hulk, Ironman and Wanted. None would play.
