This happened to me as well. All i did was just pull the plug out then put it back in, then everything's back to normal.

Send it back to Toshiba for repair. It doesn't appear to be for the North American market, but is sold in Thailand and Japan. Online help seems to think it is a sensor issue that senses an overheat fault.

Odd that both Philips and Aroma rice cookers reported the same error code. Maybe they come from the same manufacturer? The solution to the former was putting a new fuse in the bottom. However, check out the online manuals. On the last page of the manual you can find the contact info. I would call them. The error code E01 is probably explained in the Troublehooting section of user manual for your Zojirushi rice cooker.

If you do not have the manual for your model of rice cooker, you may be able to find it (PDF format, requiring Adobe Acrobat Reader software, free) here:

Sounds like your rice cooker didn't recognized Inner Pot
sitting in on it,
Check handle and switch sensor on center of inside rice cooker
PS: l_ _l Meaning is NO POT !! (Its a symbol)

Error code E3 on Krups RK7011 rice cooker

It's the wires going to temp sensor in lid. Take the drip catcher off and remove the screw on the plastic plate by the hinge, remove the black plastic cover and you will probably find that the screw had been driven through the wires at the factory.

E1 and E4 error code desplay on the screen induction cooker. what is the fault in the induction cooker?

E0 error - ensure pot or pan is placed correctly
E1 error - the circuit has malfunctioned
E2 error - the temperature sensor is opening circuit or short circuit
E3 error - the voltage is higher (140 - 160V) for 3 seconds
E4 error - the voltage is lower (80 - 100V) for 3 seconds
E5 error - the cooktop surface temperature is too high
E6 error - Internal electronic temperature is higher than normal for 3 seconds
E7 error - Internal electronic temperature sensor is opening circuit or short circuit

E01 Error

The rice cooker lid has to be closed and the dial knob has to be in the lock position (turing on the pressure lamp) before cooking can start. There are two tiny wires sending signal to the main controller to indicate that the cooker is in lock position. The wires are vey tiny and they can break over the years as a result of opening and closing the lid many times. When these wires are broken, the main controller cannot detect the lock position and will give E01 Error.
