This might be a long shot, but here I go. I bought a Samsung i730 from ebay. It worked great. I decided that I needed more signal strength for better reception so I bought an external antenna. After I put in the external antenna, my reception was great. Take out the external antenna... no more signal without the external antenna. I think I fried the internal one. Any suggestions?
If you do a search at pdaphonehome.com a guy has replaced his antenna and provided step by step instructions for how to do it yourself with pictures. I don't know if frying it can make sure getting a new antenna will fix that but thats something you can try before replacing.
