TV tilts forward on base about 15 degrees, TV will pivot left or right but won't remain perpendicular or upright.

The only things I could think of causing this would be either the hardware not tightened up properly or defective base (stand.) Make sure all the screws are tightened securely in the bottom of the base and in the back of the tv where the base attaches. Someone may have used the wrong screw holes to attach the base but there really should only be 4 holes to use to screw the base to the tv. This may need returend to the retailer for an exchance of the base.
  1. Oh, the last thing to check is that someone did not put the base on in reverse. Most have a small alightment tab that makes sure the front of the base goes to the front of the tv and if it is put on backwards the tv would tilt forward a few degrees.

Connection diagram req for lg model32lg6oud-aa for connectingvcr and dvd to tv

Hi,
Generally VCR players are going to get connected with Composite cables (aka RCA cables) Yellow-video, Red & White- Audio DVD players are typically Composite cables or Component cables.
Attached is a link to LG's knowledge base - TV quick setup diagram that explains the above connections.

How do I take off the base, so that I can hang the tv, (lost the manual)

Hi. I hope this is what you are looking for.
Here is a link to a video which shows in detail exactly how to remove the bas off of your tv.

http://www.howcast.com/videos/4680-How-To-Remove-Swivel-Base-From-LG-LCD-TVs

This is only for LG tv's, not for any other brand, as they all have there own ways of mounting and dismounting them.

I hope this helps you out, because it shows you just what to do.

How do I remove the base?

Usually base stand attachment/ de-attachment procedure is mentioned in related user manual, however, there would be few screws at lower center part of tv to be removed to remove base stand.

My base unit keeps shutting off after about 8 minutes. Sometimes it comes on in a minutes and other times it must be reboot (unplugged.) Is it defective?

I just had the same issue - i've had them for about 18 months and they were working fine with my regular tv set - connected the red/white analog plugs to the back of the tv and then other 3.5mm end to back of base... but now, i just bought an LG hdtv and had to reverse that connection... 3.5mm to the tv and the analogs back to the base... worked ok for about 10 mins then the base shut off... seems that the volume setting on the hdtv wasnt up high enough to "register" with the base - base thought nothing was happening so it automatically shut off for "inactivity" - so, when plugged into tv, I turned the tv volume way up to 100.... seems to have worked - just need to be sure to turn the volume on the tv back down before removing the headphone jack!

Swivel Base for a 42LC2D

Hi there is normally a set of 4 to 6 screws that hold the base to the tv set that you remove , you can then possibly use the same screws to attach the wall bracket to the back of the tv before mounting on the wall
hope this helps
cheers John
