I have a Grundig ST 55-800 NIC/TOP TV and a Philips Video vr 151. All cabels are connected and the whole thing is not working and yes de normal channels do work but not the videotapes. - The TV works normal; - The TV works normal with the DVD player - The VCR should be allright, although I haven't used it in three years; - The videotapes should be all right. I tried several tapes without getting an image.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

If I understand your concern right, it is that you can not watch the videotapes when played on the Philips VR151. Everything else works as expected (Cable TV & DVD). It would all depend on how the Philips VR151 is connected to your Grundig ST 55-800 NIC/TOP TV. Possible connections are:

  • SCART - set the source selector of the Grundig ST 55-800 NIC/TOP TV to SCART;
I have a Grundig ST - 0fffd8e.jpg
  • RF/coaxial cable - the TV must be tuned to UHF regular broadcast channel and not Cable. The default is Channel 36 UHF. there is also an adjustment at the rear of the Philips VR151 to fine tune

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

    and then of course, a few other requirements since it has not been used for some time:

        clean the video head with a VHS head cleaner;

        exercise the VHS tapes using a rewinder/forwarder.

    Cheers.

Connecting Ps3 with philips tv (full hd) when i got hd cable in, and click to switch so the ps3 uses hd to show things and i than switch over to the channel i plugin the hdmi cabel it gives blac kscreen

If it's the first time using your PS3, use the composite cables that came with it. Turn on the PS3 go to video settings and switch the input to HDMI. After you've switched to HDMI, turn the PS3 off and connect your HDMI cable, go back to video settings and change the resolution to 1080p. If this isn't the first time you've used HDMI for your PS3, make sure your T.V. is on the correct input. If the T.V. is on the correct input, try switching the HDMI cable to a different input. If that doesn't work try using a different HDMI cable, testing different HDMI connections if you're still getting the black screen. If none of those work then it's probably a problem with the PS3, but just to make sure try plugging something else with HDMI to see if that works. If another HDMI device works, then it's your PS3, if it doesn't then it could be a problem with your HDMI connections on the T.V.

De icing the freezer in a Samsung SW 2630WW

Take all of the shelves out of the freezer side. Take to Philips screws for backing and 4 philips screws from vent cover just above cover. unplug, Use a hair blow dryer and melt it. Put it back together and there you go. Whole operation from start to finish is about 15 minutes.
