Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, the presence of the green light is indicative that power is reaching the electronics inside, at least the power supply board. It also indicates that the standby +5VDC is present. When you press on the remote to turn ON completely the TV, would there be a clicking sound (relay activated)? Or some other indicator that the rest of the electronics inside are receiving power? If none, offhand it would be suspect of the power supply board is not supplying mains B+, the TV is in Protect Mode,

This of course would require opening the unit, perform voltage measurements, determine faulty component and subsequent part(s) replacement. Further, a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron would be required. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Magnavox Projection Model # 9P5034 C101

Yes you will need to discharge any electrical equipment before working. One way of doing this is keep equ. unplugged for sometime or after unplug short hot to ground which will most times cause a spark. You can go to vancebaldwin.com or andrewelectronics.com or any online parts store and get the part number off old IC, yes these are on the convergence module. They are big STK's, also there are resistors that will need to be changed and maybe pico fuses.
