Any brand will do. They dont mention TruTech because it is a OEM brand that Target has had manufactured from many different sources. See here....

Connecting a sansui 13 inch to a converter box

1) Connect the converter box to a good digital TV antenna and position the antenna as high and as close to a window as possible.
2) Set the converter box 'output switch' to an unused channel for your area. (Usually 2, 3 or 4.)
3) Connect the output of the converter box to the 'antenna input' on the TV.
4) Turn on both units and set the TV channel to the same output channel selected above.
5) Now select TV channels using the converter box remote only. The TV should receive all converted channels on the preselected channel.
6) Adjust the TV antenna for the best reception for all channels.

Since the switch to digital transmission, my antenna no longer works with my Trutech 19 inch TV. What kind of antenna do I need to buy in order to get reception?

to add to what MIKEY-MOORE wrote, OUR government was offering discount ($20 off a $40-$45) coupons on a digital converter box that you can use your original antenna ( I still use my original nineteen and 65 (1965) rabbit ears antenna) to receive the digital signals NOW being transmitted through the air. In order to receive the signals YOU MUST get the converter. GOTO any Radio Shack, Walmart, to acquire the converter box. You will need one for EVERY tv in your house. I have a HDTV (but not digital) and I had to buy 3 boxes.

I have a 13 inch TV with a small table top antenna with rabbit ears on it and a dial. I plugged the antenna cable into the converter for antenna in. I plugged a cable from converter box to my TV. I was...

You may need an antenna that gets VHF and UHF bands. The "rabbit ear" antenna is designed for VHF band. Many of the DTV channels are located in the UHF band. You may want to call the FCC's DTV hotline for help. They will know the TV stations in your area and can tell you if you need a different antenna. The can also arrange for someone to come help set up your DTV converter at no charge to you. 1-888-CALL-FCC is the number.

Need adator for DTV converter box.

The converter box needs an antenna, but not the one built into the TV. In fact, you should get an antenna designed for the new DTV broadcasts to get the best reception. There are a number of styles and they start at under $10.

To connect the converter box to the TV, you have a couple of options. You can use the channel 3 or 4 output from the box and connect the cable to the TV external antenna jack with the appropriate adapter. Or, since this TV also works as a monitor, you could use the converter box video and audio outputs instead. If the TV has a single A/V input jack instead of separate audio and video jacks (the usual case), Radio Shack and other vendors sell the adapter cable you'll need. One might have been supplied with the TV.

I have a Trutech PVS31170S1W LCD Tv,do i need a converter box?

Your tv is DTV ready, it has both an ATSC and NTSC tumer. You can recieve analog and digital OTA (over the air) signals.
You will need to connect an antenna and set the tuning band to AIR not CABLE..
I have provided a link with more information on DTV and Antenna's.

DTV hookup for an RCA XL-100

Try the $40 RCA DTV Tuner/Converter from Wal-Mart. Connect your existing VHF/UHF antenna (if you don't have one, Wal-Mart sells them too) to the antenna input on the back of the converter and the converter to the antenna input on the back of the TV. If it has only twin lead antenna inputs instead of the standard coaxial type, you'll need a simple twin-lead/coaxial connector, which is about $5. Tune to VHF channel 3 or 4 (set your converter switch correspondingly), turn on the conveter box and follow the onscreen instructions. If you see static, use the automatic or manual fine tune control until you see a clear picture of the menu screen.

Do I need a dtv digital converter box for my Symphonic SC313D 13 inch tv?

Pretty much a hoax on those diverter boxes. People ran out and bought them thinking that won't have reception. I have many years in maintenance and several years in nursing homes with different tv's in every room. Not once have I needed a box to pick up channels with or without cable. I myself get 16 channels with rabbit ears and thats enough for me. And I do own a combo as well and it has simple antenna and does me just fine. Depending on your location, the old tv antennas we use to put on our houses...they work amazing! Might be able to snag one on a freecycle or craigslist site. Good luck! :)
